LFO’s last surviving member Brad Fischetti is not afraid of death curse: ‘Carrying on the legacy’
LFO’s last surviving member Brad Fischetti is unafraid of the so-called “death curse” plaguing his 1990s boy band, best remembered for their hit songs Summer Girls, Girl and Every Other Time.
LFO aka ‘Lyte Funkie Ones’ – which has sold over 4 million records worldwide – lost original member Brian ‘Brizz’ Gillis to unknown causes on March 29 at the age of 47.
This, after Devin Lima passed away in 2018 at the age of 41 after a 13-month battle with stage four adrenal cancer.
And in 2020, Rich Cronin, at the age of 36, died of a stroke after a five-year battle with acute myeloid leukemia.
“Is there an LFO curse? I hope not. I hope I live a long life,” Brad said TMZ on Sunday.

“I don’t think we’ll fully understand why this happened, maybe until we get to the next life, you know? And there is so much in this world that we cannot possibly understand. It’s really weird that so many parts of the LFO story are dead – not just Brian and Rich and Devin.”
The 47-year-old New York resident — whose mother Susie Fischetti died on Aug. 11 — revealed that LFO’s keyboardist, choreographer, BMG/Logic Records rep Kelly Schweinsberg, and disgraced producer Lou Pearlman have all passed away as well.
“These are people who, you know, [are] in my prayers I mention them every day,” said Fischetti — who suffers from a survivor’s guilt.
“I don’t know what the future holds, but I do know that I’m doing my best to stay strong in my faith and do my best to do God’s will and try to be a light in the darkness. I have no idea why this happened with LFO. Maybe I should tell a story. Maybe I should be there to help other people.
“But then you say, well, why you? Why are you going to live? You know? Why you? Why did Devin have to die? And why do all his children have to attend his funeral? Why did Rich have to die? Why must his parents mourn every day? Why not you? I have no idea, but I take it as a great responsibility to carry on the legacy.’
Brad – who performs regularly with O-Town – is currently on tour as LFO in the United States through August, with his next performance scheduled for Thursday at Ludlow Garage in Cinncinati, OH.
The University of Texas dropout – which commands $44 on Cameo/Memmo – also made headlines in 2012 when he live-tweeted the name of a doctor who worked at the Orlando Women’s Center while “praying” for abortion patients.
