While Formula 1 frenzy will take over Marina Bay in Singapore on October 2 as the Singapore Grand Prix is the next to kick off.

Friday’s appearance comes after Lewis was slammed by former Formula 1 world champion Jacques Villeneuve last weekend.

Jacques spoke out on his opinion that Lewis’ recent behaviour is unacceptable – after the Formula 1 star fumed over his recent Dutch Grand Prix loss.

Red Bull driver Max Verstappen took the win at the competition, after overtaking Lewis, who was in first place just 15 laps before the end.

But the star went from first to fourth after he was put on medium tyres, fuming to his team: ‘I can’t believe you f****** f***** me. I can’t tell you how ****** I am. That was the biggest f*** up.’

And this outburst led to Jacques claiming that the attitude shown by Lewis ‘is not befitting a champion’ in his Formule1.nl column.

He said: ‘I was amazed by Lewis Hamilton’s outburst in the race and especially the way it was done.

‘He was aggressive, almost insulting. It is good that he has apologised, but this is not befitting a champion. After everything the team has done for him, you shouldn’t be speaking to them like that.’

Lewis did eventually apologise to his team, sharing to Instagram: ‘I didn’t get it right last week and we didn’t get it right today (Sunday), but we win and lose as a team.

‘We have been through worse. Everyone is doing their best and that’s all we can do.

‘We will rise and win again. I have 100% faith in this team and where we are heading.’

The result meant that Max Verstappen collected his 10th win of the year, which has increased his points advantage in the driver’s championship to 109, whereas Hamilton remains without a win this season and sixth in the standings.
