The final Mercedes car of Lewis Hamilton’s career has been launched ahead of his switch to Ferrari in 2025.

This season marks the Brit’s final year with the team he joined from McLaren in 2013.

He has since won six of his record seven world championships with Mercedes, but will leave for rivals Ferrari next year after not winning a race since 2021.

Hamilton will hope to end his relationship with the team on a high as they hope to close the gap on Max Verstappen and Red Bull and 2024.

He will be joined at Mercedes for the third season in a row by British teammate George Russell.

Hamilton said at the launch: “It was obviously emotional, it’s very surreal to be here. I came here in 2013, 11 years with the team, this is the start of my 12th.

“The focus throughout winter training is on getting the team back to where we once were. We have had a few difficult years, which have been a good basis for us.”

“It’s a privilege to work with people and see the work they are doing this winter.

‘This is the most exciting part of the year. To know everything under the hood, what George and I will be able to experience on the track. It is exciting.’
