Lewis Hamilton has been told he needs to make a significant adjustment if he wants to fully integrate into life at Ferrari.

The seven-time world champion stunned the racing world in February when it was confirmed he would be leaving Mercedes for the Prancing Horse.

Hamilton signed a £40million-plus deal with the Italian giants and will enter a new era early next year as he prepares for his 19th season in Formula 1.

The Italian manufacturer, founded by Enzo Ferrari, is known for its patriotism, and Hamilton has been told that learning the language will be crucial to his success.

In a recent interview, Formula 1 president Stefano Domenicali revealed that the 39-year-old is already hard at work learning the language.

“He’s going to generate a lot of interest,” Domenicali said Car racer.

‘He is learning to speak Italian and understands how to integrate into our culture. I told him that it is fundamental that he can do this too.

“In Ferrari he will find a different environment than before.”

Six of Hamilton’s seven titles have come behind the wheel of the Mercedes, the last of which came in 2020.

After embarking on the longest stretch of his career without a race victory, Hamilton triumphed at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone in July.

The win was his ninth at the event and his first win since the 2021 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

He followed that up with another P1 at the Belgian Grand Prix later that month, after teammate George Russell was disqualified for an underweight car.

However, Hamilton ended the season with a bizarre dip in form, claiming he was ‘not fast anymore’ after a disappointing performance in qualifying for the Qatar Grand Prix last month.
