Lewis Hamilton ditches his snazzy Formula One looks for a low-key grey cardigan and jeans while heading out to lunch in New York City

Lewis Hamilton looked casual in an understated outfit after having lunch at Locanda Verde in New York City on Saturday.

The 39-year-old Formula 1 driver looked completely different on the track than usual, as he was spotted wearing a knitted gray zip-up cardigan and baggy blue jeans.

The athlete wore a plain white T-shirt and a pair of thick brown boots under his hoodie.

He wore a pearl necklace and matching bracelet, accessorized with large sunglasses, and held his iPad in his hand as he left his lunch spot.

The driver looked serious as he set out for his afternoon.

Lewis is in New York for Fashion Week and was spotted a day earlier at the Alaïa Spring 2025 show.

He met a number of stars at the event and wore a Matrix-esque look, a long black coat and black sunglasses.

The F1 driver was in good company, joining Rihanna and Kendall Jenner, who sat front row on Friday and showed off contrasting styles.

The 36-year-old Umbrella singer looked as glamorous as ever at the event, held at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, wearing a custom-made crystal mesh Alaïa gown.

The glittering dress fell off her shoulders and the star wore a cream-colored corset underneath.

The superstar, who came straight from The Daily Front Row Fashion Media Awards, where she also wore a pricey Alaïa look, completed the outfit with strappy pearl-embellished heels and matching earrings.

Meanwhile, Kendall, 28, — who walked the runway during the show — opted for a more relaxed approach, showing off her toned midriff in a white crop top, black shorts and a black leather jacket.

The star is not averse to a quirky look and last week he looked very casual at the Italian Grand Prix in a colourful shirt as his latest quirky fashion statement.

The F1 driver appeared calm and collected as he entered Italy’s Autodromo Nazionale in Monza last month.

Lewis, who races for Mercedes, showed off his style by teaming his loose-fitting garment with cream cargo pants.

In typical Lewis style, he completed his racing outfit with a pair of thick suede boots, black sunglasses and a pearl necklace.

Lewis is at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza to compete in the Grand Prix, just hours after finishing sixth in qualifying.

Lewis’ appearance at fashion week comes after the driver criticised Mercedes’ strategy during the Belgian Grand Prix and revealed he was not informed he would be ‘overtaken’ by team-mate George Russell.

Hamilton looked set for victory in Belgium until Russell, who had gambled that he would only make one stop, managed to overtake him.

Ultimately, Russell was stripped of his victory when he was disqualified for his Mercedes being 1.5kg underweight.

Hamilton was awarded the victory, but had previously expressed his frustration with Mercedes.

The British driver admitted he told Mercedes in the pits that his tyres were fine.
