Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski has revealed he was ‘unable to walk’ after a bad collision with Real Madrid’s Eder Militao last week at El Classico.
The Polish national team captain was kneed to the back by the Brazilian defender during Barca’s 4-0 defeat to Los Blancos in the second leg of the Copa Del Rey semi-final.
Lewandowski is said to be suffering from back pain as a result of the challenge, which has left his body “in a bad state.”
The former Bayern Munich striker has reportedly asked to be substituted for Real Madrid Mundo Deportivobut continued to play through a ‘difficult’ second half.
“I’m knocking against Madrid, but I always want to play. It was difficult in the second half against Madrid. I had to ask for the change,” Lewandowski told the Spanish press.

“Yesterday I woke up and I couldn’t walk, but I tried to play without any problems. We work together with the physios. It’s part of football. I always try to be there for my teammates.
“The good thing is that I will be fine in the next game. I have to play better on the field, but that kick from Militao went out of my body badly.’
Lewandowski was deemed fit enough to start for the Catalan giants in their 0-0 draw with Girona in La Liga on Monday night.
The 34-year-old played through immense pain in Barcelona’s most recent league game and was unable to walk the following morning.
His performance against Girona drew criticism from fans and pundits as table captain Barcelona dropped points for the fifth time this season in La Liga.
Lewandowski himself was also critical of his performance in the last two games, citing the need to improve on his recent Barça performances.
