A lesbian speed dating event is at the center of a row over transphobia after the organizer insisted that only “adult human females” should attend.
It follows outcry from attendees at the popular weekly £15-a-head event, held in London’s Bloomsbury, after trans women attempted to get involved.
Last week, Jenny Watson, an urban planner who runs the nights, posted on her website, “If you’re a man, please don’t come to the events, you’re not a lesbian.”
Ms Watson told The Mail on Sunday: ‘Last year someone showed up in a purple latex outfit… and an erection.
“Another time, a trans woman entered the women’s restroom and shoved their body at a woman who was upset and then told me. It got me thinking that this isn’t fair to women.”

Members of an activist group reported Ms Watson to her employers in the London borough as transphobic for insisting on social media that only ‘adult human females’ would attend and that ‘lesbians don’t have penises’
Ms Watson, 31, added: ‘Transgender people deserve respect. But there is a need to protect segregated spaces for lesbian women.’

An investigation into the meetings was underway last night by Stonegate Group, the owners of College Arms, the pub where the event is held.
