Leonardo DiCaprio said goodbye to Sardinia and its undeniable charms on Monday as he left the picturesque Italian island aboard a waiting jet.
The Oscar-winning actor, 48, was joined by an entourage of friends as he climbed in after enjoying a welcome summer holiday on the Mediterranean.
With a hood pulled over his head, DiCaprio – who often wears protective COVID masks while out in public – appeared oblivious to the current heat wave sweeping Europe as he made another attempt to hide his identity.
A friend walked behind the actor and appeared to be holding his bag at head height as he boarded the plane, an apparent attempt to provide anonymity before they took off.
The jet-setting eco-warrior has been holidaying in Sardinia with a boyfriend, including British model Neelam Gill – with whom he has been romantically linked in recent weeks.

The 28-year-old model slammed romance rumors in July, telling Instagram followers: “Just to clear up all the rumours… I’m not Leonardo DiCaprio’s new flame.
“In fact, I’ve been in a steady relationship with his good friend for many months.
“The only reason we’re pictured in the same neighborhood is because I went there with my partner. I hope this clears up all the false stories.”
A source told MailOnline that Neelam is dating Leo’s best friend and confirmed, ‘They are not together and never have been’.
Their Italian trip comes after the Oscar winner attended Sir Mick Jagger’s 80th birthday party in London on Wednesday.
He made a surprise appearance at the star-studded party alongside the likes of Lenny Kravitz, Stella McCartney and Jerry Hall.
Earlier this month, Leo was spotted partying with Neelam and Maya Jama, 28, in London.
Leo attended the Vogue Summer party at the Chiltern Firehouse, where Maya — the face of Vogue’s August issue — and Neelam were spotted putting on sizzling displays in floor-sweeping gowns.

In photos shared by other partygoers, Leonardo appeared to be having a great time as he got on with a slew of movers and shakers, with insiders telling MailOnline that he positioned himself at the DJ booth in the midst of the festivities .
Leo’s mother Irmelin Indenbirken was not only surrounded by his romantic interests, but also attended and laughed with her son.
Neelam also spent time on Leo’s mega yacht with a group of friends on the Amalfi Coast and has been seen at many events where Leo has also attended, including Cannes and nights out at Chiltern Firehouse.
The pair were also spotted dining in Paris last month with Tobey Maguire, who is believed to be single and has recently been linked to a range of beauties.
Meanwhile, Maya shut down Leonardo dating rumors in April after already wearing a “Leo” necklace.
She tweeted: “Minded my business over the holidays and said I would stop commenting/paying attention to the silly stories but you need to stop now.

An insider previously told the outlet that he is drawn to the “very cultured and educated outlook on life” of a child’s mother.
