Leonardo DiCaprio and Vittoria Ceretti escape LA fires on private jet despite being ‘climate warrior’

Leonardo DiCaprio and his model girlfriend Vittoria Ceretti were spotted arriving in Mexico on a private jet amid the devastating LA fires.

While more than 100,000 people have been evacuated and several of his A-list peers, including Tom Hanks, Anthony Hopkins and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, have seen their homes destroyed, DiCaprio was spotted in Cabo San Lucas on Friday.

Given Leo’s reputation as an environmental advocate, it raised eyebrows that he would take a private jet during such a major natural disaster affecting his own community.

As founder of the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation, the Oscar winner, 50, has funded more than $80 million in grants focused on climate change and sustainability.

Dressed in a casual hoodie and baseball cap, Leo seemed unfazed as he stepped off the plane next to 26-year-old Ceretti, who wore an all-black ensemble.

The couple, who have been dating since 2023, were joined by Leo’s father George DiCaprio and George’s wife Peggy Ann Farrar.

As the fires continue to rage, many other Hollywood heavyweights are struggling with the heartbreaking loss of their homes.

Some, however, were luckier: Tom Hanks, Kate Hudson, Mark Hamill and others saw their belongings escape the flames.

Leo’s escape comes after he treated his 81-year-old father George, who once founded a famous waterbed company, to a visit to the exclusive Bird Street Club in West Hollywood in December.

Although the lunch date was brief, it is clear that Leo and George share a strong bond.

Despite being separated from Leo’s mother, Irmelin Indenbirken, shortly after his birth, George played an active role in raising his son.

Once a struggling installer of asbestos and fire-resistant roofing, George turned to entrepreneurship with the launch of a waterbed company, aptly named Foggy Bottom.

George has been married to Peggy Ann Farrar since 1995 and first met Irmelin in 1963 when she was studying to be a legal secretary in New York.

The couple married and moved to Los Angeles, but by 1974, when Irmelin was pregnant, their relationship was unraveling.

They made one last trip to Florence, where a kick from baby Leo while admiring a Da Vinci painting in the Uffizi Gallery inspired Irmelin to name her son after the Renaissance master.

Back in Hollywood, George and Irmelin separated but had a close co-parenting relationship, renting adjoining bungalows with a communal garden to raise Leo.

Meanwhile, Leo and Vittoria sparked speculation earlier this year when Vittoria wore a heart-shaped diamond ring during a romantic getaway in Italy.

However, reports later revealed that she had owned the ring since 2022, long before her romance with the Hollywood star began.

Still, the couple’s relationship keeps fans talking, as does Leo, who remains as fascinating off-screen as he is on-screen.
