Leonardo DiCaprio, 48, and Martin Scorsese, 80, are dapper at Air Mail Party Cannes Film Festival

Dressed to impress, Leonardo DiCaprio and famed filmmaker Martin Scorsese attended the glitzy Air Mail Party at the 76th Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday.

The Apple TV+ movie Killers Of The Flower Moon, starring the Oscar winner, 48, and directed by Scorsese, 80, notably received a nine-minute standing ovation after its premiere on Saturday.

The Inception actor wore teal pants teamed with a matching blazer to the event, adding a black button that he chose to leave undone for a casual flare.

He slipped into a pair of black sneakers and comfortably carried a black cap in his left hand as he strolled through the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc where the festivities were held.

Martin also dressed for the occasion in a dark blue blazer teamed with a matching cardigan and crisp white shirt.

The filmmaker added a light blue tie to the look and slipped on a pair of sleek, black dress shoes to complete his overall ensemble for the star-studded party.

The two stars, who have collaborated on a number of projects over the years, struck up a conversation when they stopped by the event during the annual festival, which ends on May 27.

Their latest Apple TV+ movie, Killers Of The Flower Moon, has received critical acclaim since its premiere at the festival on Saturday.

The project is based on a 2017 non-fiction book titled Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI written by David Grann.

Some of the star-studded cast include Leonardo, Robert De Niro, Brendan Fraser, Lily Gladstone, and also Jesse Plemons.

The premise follows: “Members of the Osage Tribe in the United States are murdered under mysterious circumstances in the 1920s, leading to a major FBI investigation involving J. Edgar Hoover,” according to a IMDB synopsis.

After the film’s screening at Cannes, the project garnered a whopping nine-minute standing ovation, per Variety.

Scorsese addressed the applauding crowd to express his gratitude, saying, “Thank you to the Osages. Everyone was connected to the photo. My old friends Bob and Leo, and Jesse and Lily. We shot this a few years ago in Oklahoma. It’s taken some time to get by, but Apple has done such a great job because of us.”

He continued, “There was a lot of grass. I am a New Yorker. I was very surprised. This was a great experience. We lived in that world.’

The three-and-a-half-hour film had a $200 million budget and notably premiered 45 minutes late at the festival on Saturday. The film was also Martin’s first film to be screened at Cannes since his 1985 project After Hours.

The film’s slow start didn’t deter the many positive raves and it already has a 95% rating Rotten tomatoes.

Words like ‘scorching’ and ‘masterpiece’ were used by critics who managed to get a ticket for the first screening.

IndieWire said DiCaprio gives “his best performance ever,” while The Guardian awarded five stars for a “remarkable epic about America’s bloody birth.” There were some dissenting comments, with The Times calling it “a damp squib.”

The red carpet itself for the film’s premiere attracted a number of celebrities, such as Cate Blanchett, Salma Hayek and Paul Dano.

Leonardo and Martin have worked on a total of six feature films to date, including The Aviator (2004) and The Wolf Of Wall Street (2013).

Robert De Niro, who recently welcomed his seventh child, also collaborated with Scorsese on a number of projects such as Goodfellas (1990), Taxi Driver (1976) and also The Irishman (2019).

Following the Cannes premiere of Killers Of The Flower Moon, the film will hit theaters later this year on October 20.
