Leonardo DiCaprio, 48, and ex Camila Morrone, 25, still see each other regularly over shared dog

Former couple Leonardo DiCaprio, 48, and Camila Morrone, 25, prove that breakups don’t have to be bitter.

A source close to Camila has told DailyMail.com exclusively that the pair are still in regular contact – despite breaking up last summer after a five-year relationship.

“They’re on good terms, they see each other all the time because they share custody of their dog,” the source said.

DailyMail.com has reached out to spokespersons for Leo and Camila for comment.

Camila and Leo cared for two husky puppies during the 2020 lockdown, but after rehoming a dog, Jack, they decided to adopt his sister, Sally.

The couple first started dating in 2018 when Leo was 43 and Camila was just 20 years old.

Despite their 23-year age difference, the couple proved they were serious and carried on for five years to date.

However, just a month after Camila’s 25th birthday, the couple unceremoniously split up.

In the wake of their divorce, Leo was seen aboard a yacht in St Tropez with 23-year-old Ukrainian model Maria Beregova.

But it seems there’s no hard feeling as one source said, “Leo is a great guy, the relationship just ran its course – Camila’s acting career took off and like many people they grew in different directions, but they still have a strong friendship. ‘

After Leo’s five-year relationship with Camila ended, the A-list actor finally seemed to break his “under 25” pattern after being linked with 27-year-old supermodel Gigi Hadid.

During the promotional tour for the 2021 Netflix movie Don’t Look Up, Leo’s co-star Jennifer Lawrence gave insight into the extent of the Oscar winner’s love for his dogs.

In 2020, Leo risked his life for one of his beloved dogs after it fell into a frozen lake

Protective: “One of the dogs fell in and he jumped into the frozen lake to save the dog,” Leo’s co-star Jennifer Lawrence explained

She explained how Leo risked his life in 2020 after one of the dogs fell into a frozen lake.

“One of the dogs fell in and he jumped into the frozen lake to save the dog,” Lawrence explained.

Camila and Leo were together for five years before separating in August 2022

“And as soon as he pushed one dog out of the pond, the other jumped in,” Lawrence laughed.

Don’t Look Up director Adam McKay also said Leo’s co-star Jonah Hill would send him photos of the damage Leo’s huskies did to several pieces of furniture when the duo shared an apartment during filming.

Last week, a woman who entered Leo’s Beverly Hills home to adopt Jack took to TikTok to reveal the humiliating moment when she asked Camila if the actor was her father.

Neda Mazd, of Los Angeles, California, told her followers she adopted the couple’s husky at the start of the coronavirus pandemic.

After contacting a shelter who put her in touch with Camila, Neda arrived at the mansion unaware of who the famous owner was.

“There were guards everywhere,” she said.

“They had Teslas everywhere, Erewhon bags everywhere, it was super spark plug. There was a tennis court, a full water fountain in the pool.’

Neda said a “super young girl” greeted her and brought her in to see the two dogs.

And while watching the pups play, she noticed a “dude” hanging out in the “backyard” who she mistakenly assumed was Camila’s dad.

“There’s a man with a father’s body and a cap on, he looks like he’s 45-50,” she continued.

“He was obviously trying to be low profile, and I look at him and I’m like, ‘Oh, is that your dad?’ to the girl.

And she looked at me funny and said, “No, that’s my boyfriend.” I was like, “Oh.”‘
