The 18-year-old defender left French side Lille for United last week for £52million.

Premier League rivals Liverpool and Spanish giants Real Madrid have also been interested in Yoro, with reports suggesting the centre-back is pursuing a move to the Champions League champions.

He said: ‘When I saw the FA Cup win at the end of the season I really wanted to be there. It’s great to win titles and celebrate with the fans.’

Manchester United were significant underdogs in May when they took on city rivals Manchester City in the FA Cup final.

However, they secured a 2-1 victory after goals from Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo – a result that saved Erik ten Hag’s job at Old Trafford.

Yoro impressed on his debut for United as they beat Rangers 2-0 in a friendly on Saturday and will travel with the team on their tour of the United States on Wednesday.

He also admitted that playing in the Premier League was a major factor in the move.

‘Yes, for me this is the biggest championship in the world. For me the Premier League… this is where football exists completely.

‘So the fans, the level – because the level there is insane, there is no easy game – and for me the Premier League is the biggest in the world.’

Real Madrid were favourites to sign Yoro, but the defender decided to move to Old Trafford.

Liverpool were also interested, but were under the impression that Yoro would only move to the Santiago Bernabeu.
