Leny Yoro names the one Man United team-mate he is already ‘really close’ with less than a week after arriving at Old Trafford from Lille in £52m move
Leny Yoro has only been a Manchester United player since July 18, but he is already well settled in.
The 18-year-old French centre-back, who cost £52million when he joined from Lille, made an impressive debut for United in Saturday’s 2-0 pre-season friendly win over Rangers.
He also feels at ease off the field, as was evident from a recent interview with manutd.com that he already has an excellent relationship with teammate Kobbie Mainoo, 19.
“I’m really close to Kobbie Mainoo, and this will help me a lot,” Yoro explained. “He sent me a message. He’s a really good guy.”
Unlike Yoro, Mainoo has not yet reported for pre-season training with United.

Mainoo and Luke Shaw have both been given extra time off following their involvement in England’s Euro 2024 final.
Yoro also revealed he spoke to former United star Rio Ferdinand before he moved to Old Trafford this summer.
“He called me two weeks ago,” Yoro added.
‘We talked about Man United for 10 minutes, he helped me a lot in making my choice.’
‘He talked mainly about the club and what it is like. That this is a historic club with a great story, and when I go there I have to fight for the club, be ready, because this is the biggest club in the world.
“It was really good to talk about this.”

Yoro was included in Thierry Henry’s provisional French squad for this summer’s Olympic Games in Paris.
But he was later left off the final roster, meaning he is available to tour the US with United.
