Lenovo May Have Just Leaked a New Legion Go ‘Lite’ Console – Here’s What We Know

We loved the Lenovo Legion Go when we first reviewed it , but one of the major negatives we noted was its size. Now it looks like Lenovo might be addressing that concern with a new “Lite” version of the Legion Go, sporting a smaller 7-inch display, dual fans, and more.

Funnily enough, we only know this because Lenovo itself seems to have leaked the details by accident. The info was discovered by a user methylmorphie on Redditwho noticed it in a FAQ section at the bottom of the official Lenovo Legion Go webpageThe details were there when we first checked the site, but seemed to have been removed shortly after. Fortunately, they have been captured in a archived version from the page.

In its FAQ (under the heading “How big is the Lenovo Legion Go screen?”), Lenovo describes its handheld gaming console as coming in both seven-inch and eight-inch options. However, at the moment, the Legion Go is only available with an 8.8-inch display.

That would suggest that two models are on the way: seven-inch and eight-inch versions to replace the 8.8-inch model. Either that, or the eight-inch size mentioned on Lenovo’s website refers to the 8.8-inch version.

Regardless, various sections of the FAQ also mentioned an HDMI port and dual-fan cooling, both of which are missing from the current Legion Go model. Those new features could be attractive updates for users, if they do indeed arrive with a new version of the console.

In other words, someone at Lenovo may have jumped the gun and prematurely updated the official Legion Go website. As a result, details of an upcoming model may have leaked onto the internet, ruining the surprise before Lenovo even made a formal announcement.

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard some of these details. In May, Windows Central reported that a new handheld console called the Legion Go Lite was in the works, with speculation that it would come with a smaller screen or a lower price. Thanks to Lenovo’s self-inflicted leak, we now have details that seem to confirm some of the Legion Go Lite rumors.

Video cardz reports that this information was added to Lenovo’s website “a few weeks ago.” Interestingly, it doesn’t seem like anyone noticed it until now. The details appeared after the launch of the new Legion Go, implying that they pertain to a completely different product.

There’s no word yet on when the new Legion Go model (or models) might see the light of day, so we’ll just have to wait and see and keep an eye on the latest rumors. When – or if – they do arrive, it’ll be fascinating to see if they properly address the concerns that plague the current Legion Go.
