Lenny Kravitz revealed during a new interview that he still felt “love” for his ex-wife Lisa Bonet People which was published on Friday.
“It took time, believe me, but she is a part of my life that will never leave my heart, soul or mind,” he said.
The It Ain’t Over ‘Til It’s Over singer added that a significant part of his personality was shaped “by our experience, by everything I was, everything she was and everything that came together.”
The 59-year-old entertainer was thrust into the spotlight after he started seeing the actress in the mid-1980s, and they had a high-profile romance for almost a decade before splitting up.
The hitmaker – who recently opened up about his desire for marriage – has since stated that while it was difficult to come to terms with his divorce, he was grateful for the time he spent with his former spouse.

‘Love does not leave you, but must find a new way to lead itself to a new life. We wanted to do that consciously,” he said.
Kravitz then fondly reflected on the period after he and the Primetime Emmy Award-nominated actress welcomed their daughter Zoe, 35, in 1988.
‘We really were a family. We had our own groove, expression and fashion. It was a nice time. The world that Zoe’s mother and I created, our family, was about peace, love and spirit,” he recalled.
The singer acknowledged that he was seen as a sex symbol during his time with Bonet, although he stated that he was focused on their relationship and not concerned with that aspect of his public image.
‘I didn’t think, “Oh, this is sexy.” I was just living and doing. “I was married to the most beautiful woman in the world, incredible inside and out, and I didn’t pay attention to that,” he said.
Kravitz and Bonet eloped on her twentieth birthday in 1987, and they remained married until 1993, when they divorced amicably.
The singer began dating model and singer Vanessa Paradis, and they remained together until 1996.

He subsequently became engaged to both Adriana Lima and Nicole Kidman, although neither relationship turned into marriage.
Bonet moved on with Jason Momoa, whom she started seeing in 2005 and married in 2017.
The artists welcomed a daughter named Lola, 16, and a son named Nakoa-Wolf, 15, in 2007 and 2008, respectively.
The couple separated in 2020 and their divorce was finalized last month.
