Lennox, a one-year-old baby, was mauled to death by Dalmation-Pit bull mix as heartbroken family say the animal ‘was never aggressive’
- Baby Lennox was just a few days old before he was killed by the family dog in their Connecticut home
- The parents told reporters that the dog had never acted aggressively toward the baby
- The dog jumped on the trampoline and “took the baby,” Lennox’s mother said through tears
An adorable one-year-old baby boy has been pictured being mauled to death by the family dog in their Connecticut home.
Police were called to an East Hartford home around 3 p.m. Wednesday on reports that a child had been bitten several times by a dog, which neighbors described as a “Dalmatian/Pit Bull cross.”
Lennox had turned one year old a few days earlier and was playing on the trampoline with his mother when the dog viciously attacked them.
The Dalmatian-Pit Bull mix, who had never shown signs of aggression, jumped on the trampoline and took Lennox with him.
“If the dog would have been aggressive or something like that,” Lennox’s father, Ricky Rohena, said NBC“He wouldn’t have been near the baby.”

Two dogs were involved in the attack, although “one was the primary aggressor,” investigators said.
Lennox’s mother, Keyshla Torres, who is pregnant, was also injured in the attack.
“I witnessed it,” she said through tears. “(The dog) got on the trampoline and then grabbed the baby.”
‘I hope he didn’t suffer. I hope he was numb to it.”
Rohan Green, the Torres’ neighbor, heard the wailing and screaming and rushed across the street to help. He tried to fight the dogs back and protect Lennox and his mother.
“I was trying to beat two Pit Bulls and help the baby as much as I could,” he said. ‘One minute seemed like an eternity.’
Lennox’s family planned to celebrate his first birthday at a Chuck E. Cheese on the day the baby was killed.

Authorities are investigating Lennox’s death
The two dogs have been taken to a shelter and are being quarantined
Emergency responders performed life-saving measures and took the child to a local hospital, but the boy died “despite the valiant efforts of medical professionals.”
The boy’s death is under investigation, police spokesman Marc Caruso said, adding that two dogs have been removed from the home.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and loved ones as they mourn their loss,” Caruso said. “May they find comfort and strength during this challenging time.”
The owner is said to have kept two dogs on the property, both of which were removed from the home and placed in quarantine.
A memorial has been erected outside Lennox’s home and ‘Happy birthday’ balloons have been tied to the fence.
