Earlier this month, Shazam! The writers of Fury of the Gods confirmed that the superhero Pedro Peña is gay.

Speaking in dorkaholicsHenry Gayden said, “The only thing new about this movie is being much more direct about Pedro being gay.”

“And that was hinted at very subtly in the first movie. And I thought that was really important and I really fought for us to include that and bring it to the fore in this film.

Zachary Levi, who debunked rumors that he was being recast in December, will return as the main character.

The character is the adult superhero that Billy Batson (Asher Angel) becomes after receiving incredible powers from a wizard (Djimon Hounsou) in the original 2019 Shazam.
