Leicester City have inquired about Lorient winger Dango Ouattara.

Brendan Rodgers is eager to stave off the threat of relegation by adding to his squad this month, and the 20-year-old Burkina Faso international has impressed scouts this season.

A winger is high on Leicester’s January priority list and Ouattara is seen as one of the most exciting young players in Europe.

Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers is a fan and keen to add a winger in January.

Ouattara has proven to be one of the rising stars in France this season, with Lorient sixth and in contention to boost European football.

The Burkina Faso ace has taken a huge step forward having managed just one goal and two assists in 25 games last season.

With five goals and five assists already, Lorient will be primed for interest, like Leicester’s, to reassert themselves as the month progresses.

Ouattara’s current deal runs until 2024, although reports in France earlier in the season suggested talks were underway for a possible extension.

Leicester are entering a decisive period of the season on and off the pitch.

Rodgers’ team is currently 13th in the table, just two points from the relegation zone.

The former Liverpool manager knows how dangerous the second half of the season can be and is also juggling a number of potential personnel changes, with ins and outs the priority.

Several of his current players (Caglar Soyuncu, Jonny Evans, Daniel Amartey, Ryan Bertrand, Papy Mendy, Ayoze Perez and Youri Tielemans) all ended their contracts in June, so Rodgers has to plan a team overhaul.
