Lego Masters Australia vs The World winner revealed as they take home $100K grand prize in nail-biting finale

LEGO Masters Australia vs The World had a record-breaking final on Tuesday night as the winning team was revealed in a shock announcement.

US team Krystle Starr and Michelle Brooks became the first female team and the first international team to take home the crown on the Channel Nine show.

The duo walked away with a trophy and $100,000 after their record-setting victory, building a massive artist studio made entirely from LEGO parts.

“Representing Team USA was an incredible honor. “The memories and family created Down Under will be held in our hearts for the rest of our lives,” they said.

“Over the course of the series and building it together for the first time, the respect we have for each other is second to none.”

They continued: “We were determined to give it everything we had and we’re proud to be the first ever all-female team to lift a LEGO Masters Australia trophy.”

Krystle and Michelle pulled off an incredible feat with their final build in season six, when despite all doubts they assembled the life-size art studio in just 28 hours.

Judge Ryan ‘The Brickman’ McNaught, along with 200 members of the public, decided the winners of this season, which is hosted by radio star Hamish Blake.

The Australian LEGO designer said: “It was super exciting to see teams from other countries come and do LEGO Masters Australia.

‘Especially because LEGO is universal and has no language, the builders from each country bring a different and unique style.

“Krystle and Michelle certainly did that, creating some great builds. Not only did they blow us away with their build, I think I learned from them too.”

Annalena Rohr and Felix Geisbush took second place this season, despite having a strong lead after winning the first four episodes.

The team previously won season one of LEGO Masters Germany with a stunning fairytale version that they tried to expand this year with the Fairy Village.

Meanwhile, Australian team Shane and Dianne Horvath landed third place with their build called Final Frontier.

The couple played to their strengths with a huge engineering challenge that involved an astronaut crash-landing on a strange planet.
