Lego FortniteThe latest update is officially here and introduces a brand new explorable map called the Lost Islands.
Epic Games released version 31.20 today (September 17) for all platforms, making it the second major expansion for the Lego spin-off within Fortnite.
Lost Islands is a decent patch, but the biggest takeaway is the titular island itself, which players can access directly from any Battle Bus Station.
On the island, players will discover five different Lego biomes: the beach, the plains, the jungle, the mountains, and the floating islands. Each biome has a unique look and also has its own challenges.
Epic calls the beach “a great place to relax,” albeit with pirates lurking. The jungle, on the other hand, is lush with plants that can heal you but also deal damage, such as the bomb and stink flowers that players can use to defend themselves.
While exploring, players can also find new weapons and equipment, such as the Pirate Musket, the Flint-Knock Pistol, and the dynamite-filled Boom Shield, which are standard weapons dropped by pirates.
Also found in the plains are Peely tribe javelins, while the Storm-Wild Tomatoes are known to carry the Explorer’s Machete and the Knockback Shield.
The Essence Table has been upgraded to the Rune Forge in the latest update, where players can craft Runes to power up tools.
As players travel through the Jungle environment, they can also encounter a new creature called a Klombos. By feeding a Klombo a Klomberry, they can become a friend and mount, allowing players to travel greater distances much faster.
As with any major update, Lost Islands also comes with a new Battle Pass. This version, called Tropical Treasures Lego Pass, includes a bunch of unlockable building items for players to obtain.
The Premium Reward Track costs 1,400 V-Bucks and offers 11 additional rewards to unlock, while you can also unlock rewards from the free rewards track.
This is how the Tropical Treasures Lego Pass works:
- Once you select the LEGO Fortnite experience in Fortnite, look for the LEGO Pass button in the top navigation.
- Here you will see the LEGO Pass and a button to view Quests. These Quests are about exploring the Lost Isles. Complete them to earn studs!
- The more Studs you collect, the further you advance in the LEGO Pass! Unlock in-game rewards from the free reward track as you progress. If you want, you can also unlock in-game rewards from the purchase Premium rewards track.
