Legendary sports broadcaster Bob Costas lashes out at Democrats for ‘gaslighting’ America about Joe Biden
Iconic sportscaster Bob Costas has slammed the Democrats’ handling of President Joe Biden, accusing the party of “gaslighting” the American public.
The NBC Sports legend claims it’s been “obvious” for years that the 81-year-old president is declining.
Biden is under mounting pressure to withdraw from this year’s election after his “appalling” performance in the first debate against Donald Trump.
Costas stressed that the president “must be sent away,” saying: “We can no longer give in to his delusions.”
The legendary host also slammed leading Democrats for not speaking openly about Biden’s capabilities, even expressing surprise after the debate.

‘That one terrible night was simply clear evidence of what had been evident for years: that he was seriously deteriorating,’ Costas told CNN.
“This has been so overwhelmingly clear for so long. You don’t need a degree in public policy from Harvard to see it and say it — if you want to say it — any more than you need a degree from MIT to say two plus two equals four. And you wonder if we’ve been manipulated by the Democrats.”
He added: ‘This must have been clear to the people around the president, the people who were observing him… wouldn’t it have been an act of patriotism, if that’s not an exaggeration in this case, to say so?’
Costas was asked whether Democrats were actually surprised by Biden’s debate struggles, or whether they were simply ignoring reality.

“I think it’s the latter, and that only became clear during the debate,” he said.
Costas accused those who continue to defend Biden — claiming the president simply had a bad night — of ignoring evidence that has been piling up “for years.”
“Nobody should be president at 85 or 86, including the spirit of Abraham Lincoln, but this man is clearly in decline at this point,” he continued.
“And part of the job, apart from whether he can hold out for the next four years, is winning the job. And as you just pointed out, that seems almost impossible right now.”
