The legendary 2000s sitcom Scrubs has already hinted that the series will return to TV in six months after a 14-year hiatus.
Scrubs is an American medical sitcom that premiered in 2001. The series followed the employees of the fictional Sacred Heart Hospital and ran for nine seasons.
And now the creator of the show, Bill Lawrence has revealed that the cast of the beloved sitcom could reunite within “six months to a year” because they all feel like they have “stories to tell.”
Speaking to the Independent he confessed: “We’ve talked about it. We all spend time together in real life, but everyone is so talented from that show that they all work.
‘We really started thinking about the idea of getting the band back together because we all feel like we have a story to tell.

“People in the medical community are heroes right now. They’re definitely not in it for the money! It’s been a crazy, tough time, so I wouldn’t be surprised if we come up with something in the next six months to a year.”
While the writer hinted at bringing back the series, he confirmed that he would not be making a full-length film adaptation.
Scrubs was nominated for 17 Emmy Awards during its run and made stars of leads Zach Braff and Donald Faison.
Zach played JD Dorian, the main character and narrator of the series, while Donald played the lead role of Christopher Turk, JD’s best friend and a surgeon who eventually becomes the chief of surgery at Sacred Heart Hospital as the series progresses.
The cast has stayed in touch throughout the year, and Bill recently reunited with Zach for his new Apple+ crime comedy series Bad Monkey.
Zach plays the role of disgraced, drug-addicted doctor Israel O’Peele, which is somewhat different from his young character JD Dorian from Scrubs.
In March 2020, Zach and Donald launched the re-listenable podcast Fake Doctors, Real Friends, which is distributed by iHeartRadio.
In the podcast, which the two host together, the former co-stars and real-life BFFS share their stories and experiences from their time on Scrubs.

Zach previously indicated that he was interested in doing more episodes of Scrubs, stating that the cast would love to get back together “in whatever form, whether it’s a movie or a limited series or something,” but that there are no plans at this time.
“It’s just that we can’t do it without the king of all Scrubs, Bill Lawrence,” the 46-year-old New Jersey native said THR.
He just signed the biggest deal ever [with Warner Bros. TV] and he’s a little busy. If Bill is available, so sometime in 3004.
“But seriously, if it was any good, I’m sure there isn’t a single cast member who wouldn’t love to get back together and do it in some way.”
He also said in 2017: “It’s something we’re all talking about, especially now that all these people are making Netflix versions of their shows again.
“I’m really jealous of all the attention from Gilmore Girls, and Full House. We talk about it every now and then, so you never know. I would do it!”
