Chaka Khan and Nile Rodgers proved they’ve still got it after decades of dominating the American music industry.
When they performed at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl for the Melbourne International Jazz Festival on Saturday, the musical legends drove fans wild.
The packed house saw six hours of performances from Nile, 71, with his band Chic, Kaiit, and Chaka, 70, who blew their audience away.
Dressed in a funky salmon suit, Nile opened the act with his hit Le Freak, still the best-selling single in the history of Atlantic Records.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer accessorized his classic look with a white beret and sunglasses as he took the stage with his guitar and two backup singers.

“The time has come to take you to a place of maximum funkosity,” Nile told the crowd The Daily Advertiser.
His band Chic went on to cover all their biggest hits from the 70s, including Everybody Dance and I Want Your Love.
The huge evening of music ended when ten-time Grammy winner Chaka took the stage for the final act.

The singer was once the lead singer of the funk band Rufus and has had an astonishing music career spanning 50 years.
It’s been ten years since the jazz pioneer performed in Australia, choosing to visit Sydney when she last flew Down Under.
Dressed in sheer sleeves and black fringed trousers that molded to her figure, the artist promptly assured the audience that Melbourne is her favorite city.

‘I’ve been in show business for fifty years now. That’s crazy because I’m only 45,” she joked to her fans.
Chaka started her act with This Is My Night and Tell Me Something Good, followed by her 80s hits What Cha’ Gonna Do For Me and Sweet Thing.
She later performed I’m Every Woman with backup from three vocalists before closing the show with her hit Ain’t Nobody.
Chaka’s incredible performance was enhanced by her eight-piece band, who were given plenty of opportunity to show off their own skills.
