Leeds winger Jack Harrison has signed a new contract with the Premier League side that will keep him at the club until 2028.
Harrison has been one of the most integral players for the Yorkshire side this season, with his 10 goals playing a huge part in their fight for survival.
Things could have turned out very differently for Harrison, however, given that he was close to joining relegation rivals Leicester in January.
The 26-year-old had already begun his medical with the Foxes after the two clubs agreed a fee before the deal was pulled.
It has proved a wise choice from Leeds, who have recently reaped the rewards of Harrison’s rousing performances and have now rewarded him with a new deal.

Leeds director of football Victor Orta said: ‘Jack is a vital part of our side and our plans for the future and I am delighted that he has agreed to commit his future to the club for the long term.
“He’s one of the most professional players I’ve come across in my career, he has an incredible attitude and just wants to improve and I know we’ll see him at his peak in the next five years.”
The news comes just a few months after his move to Leicester collapsed on deadline in what Harrison is now calling a “strange” situation.
Reports at the time claimed that Harrison was skeptical of a move to another Premier League relegation rival.
And now, speaking of the collapsed move, Harrison said, “It was strange to say the least. Everyone knows what happened, there was a lot of drama.
“As a player it was the most vulnerable I’ve ever felt. It was a big eye-opener for what goes on behind the scenes in football. When I got a call [telling him the deal was off] I had to accept it right away. You have to accept the chaos and move forward.

“There is drama in other people’s lives and they have to go to work the next day, that’s just the same for us as footballers. I realized it’s important to have really good people around you.’
The striker has proven that Leeds’ confidence in him was not undeserved, as he has scored three times in his last four Premier League appearances.
“Both the club and I know there is still business to be done here in Leeds,” he said. ‘I learned that quickly [deadline day] was part of the job.
“There is no time to dwell on it, to complain or to be angry. It’s about being in the moment and right now I’m in Leeds where I can make a difference.’
