Leeds United have made a bid for German midfielder Nadiem Amiri from Bayer Leverkusen.
Daniel Farke is eager to add attacking players to his squad as Leeds aim to return to the Premier League.
They have also asked for Genk winger Joseph Paintsil and remain interested in Swansea striker Joel Piroe, even though the clubs have different valuations.
Amiri, 26, is an attacking midfielder who has made five appearances for Germany, although his last appearance was in 2020.
Entering the final year of his contract with Leverkusen, Amiri came on as a late substitute in the 3-2 win over RB Leipzig on the opening weekend of the Bundesliga season.

Leeds boss Daniel Farke wants to add more goals and attacking creativity to his ailing side
He made 36 appearances for the club last season, scoring four times, but starting in just thirteen of those matches. It remains to be seen if he would want to drop down to the second tier in England.
Leeds have yet to win a championship game this season, drawing against Cardiff City and West Bromwich Albion and losing 1-0 to Birmingham City.
Their only success came against League One Shrewsbury Town in the first round of the Carabao Cup.
They make the trip to Ipswich Town this Saturday.
The Ghanaian Paintsil, 25, can play as a left winger or an attacking midfielder and scored 18 goals in 39 appearances for Genk in all competitions last season.
Piroe, 24, has impressed in his two seasons in the Championship with Swansea, scoring 24 and 20 goals respectively.
