Lee Mead shows off his newly grown locks after his hair transplant as he admits he ‘wasn’t quite ready’ to go bald
Lee Mead has shown off his newly grown back hair following a hair transplant earlier this year.
The actor and theater star, 42, shocked fans in January when he shaved off his famous curls to undergo a hair transplant at a clinic in Istanbul, Turkey.
And on Wednesday, seven months after the procedure, Lee showed off his healthy-looking head of hair as he talked about how he covered his “completely bald” spot in the center of his head with his curls.
Lee also admitted that while there was nothing wrong with being bald, he “wasn’t quite ready” for that look.
Captioning his post, he wrote: ‘I still can’t believe I was completely bald through the middle of my head only in January/early this year before my transplant.

Lee, who is the ex-husband of Denise van Outen, appeared on This Morning and revealed he had the procedure done as part of a “personal trust thing.”
Lee added that it’s the second time he’s had the procedure, having had his first hair loss treatment about 15 years ago.
‘My first was 15 years ago and it was called FUT technique (Follicular Unit Transplant Technique). But nobody knew. Then I had my next one,” he explained.
“There’s nothing wrong with being bald, but it receded and it kind of affected my self-confidence.
