LeBron James’ son, Bronny, dons Chrome Hearts suit with rumored girlfriend for senior prom

The son of NBA icon LeBron James, Bronny, got ready for his senior prom the weekend before he starts playing collegiate basketball next season.

The Lakers superstar’s eldest son, 18, looked dapper in an all-black suit to attend prom at California’s Sierra Canyon High School in photos his mother, Savannah James, shared on Instagram.

The 6-foot-3 guard, who recently announced his commitment to play at USC, wore a custom black Chrome Hearts suit and Dior shoes for the occasion.

The jacket sported the custom Chrome Hearts design on the front, back and cuffs with a white on the outer hem of the pants. Bronny opted to go shirtless under the designer jacket.

Bronny appeared to be in attendance with his rumored girlfriend, Peyton Gelfuso, 19, who sparkled in a strapless black satin dress.

Gelfuso, who wore her long, blonde locks in loose curls down her back, previously attended Sierra Canyon High School, according to reports.

Up-and-coming basketball star Bronny left his mom “loose for words” when she proudly took to Instagram to share photos of her son posing outside the family home, even in front of a black Porsche.

Savannah, who also shares son Bryce, 15, and daughter Zhuri, 8, with LeBron, 38, captioned the post “Prom 2023,” which featured black heart emojis on either side.

Gelfuso appears to split her time between Los Angeles and Dallas as she attends Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Texas and is a member of the Tri Delta sorority, according to her Instagram bio.

Last year, Bronny also went to prom with Gelfuso, but faced vicious racial abuse for bringing a white girl to his prom after sharing pictures of the happy couple.

Some people on the internet weren’t happy with his decision to bring someone “fair-skinned” to prom, and social media was soon flooded with a slew of nasty comments about the pairing.

“Not a fair-skinned woman yet,” one person wrote, while another added, “Cub, on the bright side, LeBron has more kids. Maybe they do better.’

That girl is whiter than white bruh,’ someone else said.

A fourth tweet read: “Should have had a black queen like his father,” with an angry face emoji.

“Lost another black king to a money hungry white girl,” another Twitter user tweeted. “Source needs to do better SMH.”

Someone else labeled her a “gold digger” and quoted the lyrics to Kanye West’s song Gold Digger, while others simply shared GIFs and memes to show their disappointment with his choice of date.

In the wake of Bronny’s backlash, alleged photos of his father, LeBron, at his own prom with a white woman have resurfaced online.

The photos were originally shared in 2017 by someone claiming to be LeBron’s date’s niece, but they were re-shared amid the recent backlash to his son’s prom companion.

This year, Savannah shared photos that only featured Bronny on Instagram, not a few with Gelfuso.

People in the comments referenced the vile racist abuse sparked by the photos from last year’s prom, disgustingly mocking the horrific incident.

“Show his date lol,” one troll wrote, while another added, “Don’t be her.” [sic]show his date this year lol.”

Others shared similar comments, such as, “I’d like to see his date, I know he didn’t go alone.”

Another asked, “No white girl this time?”

“They are smart not to show the date this year,” another wrote in the comments.

Bronny and Gelfuso have yet to confirm they are dating, but she has previously shared photos of herself in what appears to be the James family home.

Bronny signed his letter of intent last week to come to the University of Southern California (USC) and play basketball.

The younger James was listed on 24/7sports.com as a five-star recruit, the fourth best prospect in California, the fifth best combo guard, and the 21st best prospect in the country.

Bronny received scholarship offers from USC, Memphis and Ohio State, while drawing interest from Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, North Carolina and Oregon.

LeBron has previously expressed his intention to play in the NBA alongside his son, but made headlines this week when he alluded to retirement.

The superstar may have softened his stance when he revealed that he would support Bronny even if he didn’t want them to play together in the NBA as a father-son duo.

“I did what I had to do in this league, and my son is going to make his journey,” he said after the Lakers’ Game 3 loss on Saturday.

And whatever his journey, whatever his journey looks like, he’s going to do what’s best for him. And as his father and his mother, Savannah, and his brother and sister, we’re going to support him in whatever he decides to do. So just because that’s my aspiration or my goal doesn’t mean it’s his. And I think that’s absolutely okay.’

LeBron hinted that he was unsure about his NBA future Monday night when he gave a cryptic answer to questions about his life on the court following the Nuggets’ elimination of LA.

“We will see what happens in the future. But I don’t know,’ James said. ‘Don’t know. I have a lot to think about, to be honest. I have a lot to think about,” said James after scoring 40 points as the Lakers dropped Game 4 to the Nuggets, officially sweeping their season.

“Just face-to-face with me to get on with the basketball game…I have a lot to think about.”
