LeBron James leads the tributes to Nick Chubb after Browns running back suffers grim knee injury vs. Steelers: ‘Praying for the absolute best’

LeBron James was among the sports stars to support Nick Chubb after the Browns running back suffered a gruesome knee injury against the Steelers.

Chubb’s left knee appeared almost completely at right angles after he was involved in a nasty collision that also injured Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick during the first half of one of two Monday Night Football games.

Chubb was eventually taken off the field as fears grew that he could now miss the rest of the relatively new season.

But a few household names from across the American sports landscape have reminded the 27-year-old that he is in their thoughts and prayers, at least from what has been gathered on social media.

‘DAMN MAN!!!!’ James shared on X, formerly Twitter. “Nick Chubb. Praying for the very best.”

“Chubb,” said Cleveland Cavaliers star Darius Garland, who also shared a praying emoji on X.

“Prayers for Nick Chubb,” Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson said. Cardinals QB Kyle Murray, for his part, added that he “never wants to see those types of horrific injuries.”

“That low blow is so brutal man, especially when you’re carrying someone!! I hate that so much, I’m so sick for Nick Chubb man,” former NFL running back and Fox Sports analyst Mark Ingram II tweeted.

“If you have a moment, send a prayer for Nick Chubb. I never want to see anyone on that bandwagon,” said former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III.

“Pray for my brother Chubb,” wrote Ravens wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr, who tore his ACL in Super Bowl LVI with the LA Rams in 2021.

Steelers wide receiver Gunner Olszewski was also taken off the field in the first half due to fears of head injuries, with his return considered questionable.
