LeBron James is unveiled as Team USA’s flagbearer for Paris Olympic opening ceremony

Team USA will have a legend at the helm after it was announced that LeBron James will carry the flag during the Olympic Games opening ceremony on Friday.

The NBA icon and member of the U.S. basketball team will carry the flag for the red, white and blue colors in Paris after being selected to serve as the male flag bearer for the Americans at the opening of the 2024 Olympic Games.

The Lakers legend will become the third basketball player — and the first male player — to carry the U.S. flag at the Olympic Games, joining Dawn Staley for the 2004 Athens Games and Sue Bird for the pandemic-postponed 2021 Tokyo Games.

The female flag bearer has not yet been announced, but is expected to be announced in the coming days.
