LeBron James has gone viral on social media, but not for on-court heroics with the Los Angeles Lakers.
The NBA’s all-time leading scorer, who stands at 6-foot-4, has instead gained attention for the condition of his feet after one of the most storied basketball careers ever.
A photo has surfaced of LeBron on vacation in which his toes are awkwardly clenched together, with his little toe appearing to point across his foot instead of up.
Incredibly, the photo appears to have been taken more than 10 years ago, with a 2013 report noting the condition of LeBron’s feet.
Now that he’s 39 and unlikely to retire this season, the demands of the NBA have likely taken a much greater toll on his body.

James is carefully managing his minutes for the Lakers, who are 27-25 on the season after Monday night’s six-point win over the Charlotte Hornets.
James played 40 minutes in that game and scored 26 points, just two nights after playing in New York against the Knicks at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night.
He even scored one point less that evening, in the same time, which meant an impressive victory for his team. The Lakers are back in action on Thursday when they travel to the NBA champion Denver Nuggets.
A podiatrist told me The sun last year that James could spend up to $7,000 a month to keep his feet in good shape.
“For his feet in general, I’d say LeBron will probably spend about $7,000 every month on podiatry care, orthotics and custom sneakers,” they said.
‘LeBron also has a complicated left foot and would require a scalpel treatment to remove the calluses and prevent ulcers.
‘Now on top of that there is rehabilitation for his right foot. That’s a huge bill, running up to $84,000 a year.”
