LeBron James officially gave the 2024 United States men’s basketball team the perfect nickname after winning gold in Paris.
On Saturday, the Americans completed their mission against host France by winning the gold medal match 98-87.
After the game James was asked: ‘There’s the dream team, [the] ‘Redeem team, what kind of team is this?’
“The Avengers,” said James.
The reference to the Marvel series seems fitting, as the team has one of the most star-studded lineups representing the United States at the games.

The team also features three members of the recently crowned NBA champion Boston Celtics: Jayson Tatum, Derrick White and Jrue Holiday.
Curry exploded for 24 points to lead the Americans to victory in his first Olympics. The Bay Area sharpshooter has now added a gold medal to his impressive resume after making eight of his 13 three-point attempts.
The Phoenix Suns’ dynamic duo of Durant and Devin Booker each scored 15 points to add to the total score.
