LeBron James’ first Lakers No. 6 jersey is up for auction, and it already looks like it will sell for at least five figures.
James began his tenure with the Lakers, which began in 2018, wearing number 23, but switched to number 6 in 2021.
That change was made official when James donned No. 6 in the season opener against the Warriors, and his jersey from that game is now up for auction at SCP Auctions, as TMZ first reported.

The jersey is classic gold Lakers with purple trim, featuring James jersey size (54) and the game date, 10-19-21, written on the tag.

LeBron James switched to the No. 6 jersey for the Lakers ahead of the 2021-22 season
According to TMZ, the jersey was entered into the NBA’s In-Game Jersey Authentication Program and MeiGray, and was matched in the photo with the first and second from the contest against the Warriors.
That game ended in a 121-114 loss for the Lakers.
James previously wore number 6 with the Miami Heat, where he won two titles.
He has only worn number 23 in his two seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The highest bid for the jersey is currently $77,951 and eight bids have been made.
