LeBron James and the Lakers are OUT of the NBA playoffs as last-gasp 108-106 defeat to the Nuggets seals 4-1 series loss
A final two-pointer from Jamal Murray gave the Denver Nuggets a 108-106 victory over the LA Lakers and sent LeBron James and Co. to the NBA playoffs.
Knowing a win was needed to keep the series alive at 3-1, LeBron scored 30 points as he desperately tried to pull the Lakers over the line on Monday night.
But ultimately his efforts weren’t enough, as Murray’s 32-point return – including a two-pointer near the death – was enough to win Game 5 and book the Nuggets berth in the Conference Semifinals.
It marks a miserable end to the season for the Lakers and all-time great LeBron, who now faces an uncertain future in the sport at age 39.
