LeBron and Bronny James ‘sued in California over 2022 car crash’

On the same day that LeBron and Bronny James made history in Los Angeles, the Lakers teammates were reportedly charged in connection with a 2022 traffic accident in California.

TMZ has reportedly obtained the lawsuit on behalf of April Almanza Lopez and Kiara Rae McGillen, who claim their vehicle was struck by another car driven by LeBron and Bronny in Los Angeles County. The pair claim they still need medical treatment after the wreck and that their car was damaged, reducing its value.

According to TMZ, the two are suing for unspecified damages.

Lawyers representing James declined to comment to DailyMail.com, stating they have yet to receive the filing.

Currently, no such filing is listed on the Los Angeles County Civil Court website.

LeBron and Bronny mostly made news on the basketball court on Tuesday, as the Lakers defeated the visiting Minnesota Timberwolves in the younger James’ NBA debut.

Bronny played less than three minutes and failed to score while recording one offensive rebound.

Nevertheless, he received a standing ovation when he entered the game with his father in the second quarter.

Just before their boisterous welcome, the two shared a candid moment on the couch as young Bronny waited for his NBA debut.

“Are you ready?” LeBron, 39, is heard asking his 20-year-old son before they registered for the game in the second quarter.

“You see the intensity, right?” LeBron continued, as heard on TNT’s microphones. ‘But just play carefree. Don’t worry about mistakes. Just go out there and play hard.”

The older James had started the game and was well into his 22nd NBA season by the time the young Bronny was ready to take the floor. But as he sat next to his son on the couch, LeBron had clearly gone into “dad” mode.

Bronny wasn’t on the mic, but seemed to answer yes to everything his dad threw at him.

Although the Lakers were running over the Timberwolves when the James gang checked in, Bronny struggled somewhat, missing a three-point attempt and having a tip-in deflected by former Defensive Player of the Year, Rudy Gobert.

The 6-foot-1 Bronny quickly quit the game, outscoring the Lakers by five points during his three minutes on the floor.

Afterwards, TNT Sports interviewed both Bronny and LeBron.

“I’m just really grateful for everything,” Bronny said of his debut. “I had a great opportunity to come into this league and get better every day and learn every day.”

But no one was happier than LeBron, who finally got to work with his son after so many years on the road without him.

“It’s family,” LeBron told TNT. “It’s always been family, about everything. For me, I lost a lot of time with this league, being committed to this league, being on the road sometimes, missing a lot of his stuff, Bryce’s stuff, Zhuri’s stuff.

“So to be able to have this moment, where I’m still working, and I can work alongside my son, is one of the greatest gifts I’ve ever received from the man above and I’m going to take full advantage of it .’

When asked what he wants Bronny to remember, LeBron emphasized the privilege of playing in the NBA.

“It’s not every day that you get the chance to play in this wonderful league that is promised,” he said with his son. ‘There are only 450 of us. Understand that it is not given to you. You have to earn every moment. He knows that and he looks forward to the process of getting better and better every day to be the player he ultimately wants to be.

‘I’m very proud of him. He is my lifeline, that’s for sure.’
