Work in the hospitality industry is certainly not easy – and dealing with ungrateful customers certainly makes the task even more difficult.
Perhaps every bartender, waiter, and host around the world has had an encounter with a rude guest at their establishment — which means they all have a story to tell.
A number of fed-up hospitality workers have aired their grievances on a Reddit page, Server lifeas they share images illustrating some of the worst customers to ever come through their doors. Bored Panda has collected the best (or worst) in an online gallery.
The footage included one photo showing a restaurant seating area covered in blue powder after a customer performed a gender reveal on their baby without first asking permission – and presumably without considering the amount of time it would take to clean up.
Elsewhere, a customer left the wait staff a small tip because another customer’s child screamed while they ate – something the stingy gambler expected the staff to control.
Waiters and bar staff from around the world took to the Reddit page Serverlife to share the furious encounters and Bored Panda collected the best into a gallery. They include a server who was given a paltry tip because her customer claimed she wished her a happy birthday in a “lazy” tone
And for one unfortunate waiter, a customer who sneezed with food in his mouth left a pretty unpleasant mess that had to be cleaned up after paying his bill and leaving the restaurant.
Another customer wrote “tip on the back” on the receipt, then wrote seven passive-aggressive tips to the server, including “act like you care**.”
