Leaked: Major WWE star to return at Bad Blood event… as cameras catch Cody Rhodes and Pat McAfee discussing comeback ahead of podcast sit-down

  • Cody Rhodes has hinted that a big star could be returning to WWE soon
  • The American Nightmare will team up with Roman Reigns for Bad Blood

The return of a major WWE star could be announced soon after Cody Rhodes dropped a big hint in a podcast appearance with Pat McAfee.

This Saturday, WWE will host Bad Blood from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, marking the return of the premium live event for the first time in two decades.

The main event will see Roman Reigns make his return to the ring, nearly six months after his record-breaking Undisputed Universal Title run came to an end at the hands of Rhodes at WrestleMania XL.

The rivals will put aside their differences and team up to take on Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu in a tag team main event.

While fans are fascinated by Rhodes’ long-running feud with The Bloodline, the American Nightmare recently dropped a major hint that there could be even more to get excited about.

Rhodes hinted that a big announcement will take place this weekend at Bad Blood, where he will team up with rival Roman Reigns

During an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show, Rhodes revealed that a vignette is planned for the event that will have “major title implications.”

‘[His title] Off the line this weekend, but something’s happening at Bad Blood.’ said Rhodes.

“I suspect a video package or vignette that will be in the show. I have to keep it vague. There are major title implications for Crown Jewel. Sorry to be so vague, but it’s a minor spoiler.’

Crown Jewel is the next major premium live event on the WWE calendar and will take place at the Mohammed Abdo Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

WWE has historically pulled out all the stops for their Saudi shows and Rhodes has put the speculation into overdrive after dropping another hint that this one will be no different.

In a clip shared to Rhodes’ Instagram, McAfee asks the 39-year-old if the ‘big man’ is coming back this week, and Rhodes responds with: ‘which one?’.

McAfee then insists, “Okay. Great. Don’t know. You’ve told me enough. You’ve told me just enough.’

While there are a number of stars the pair could have hinted at, two that stand out as potential candidates are former WWE Champions The Rock and Brock Lesnar.

One potential candidate is The Rock, who has been linked to Rhodes at WrestleMania next year

Another is Brock Lesnar, who has been absent from WWE programming since losing to Rhodes at SummerSlam in 2023.

After making a triumphant return to wrestling earlier this year, culminating in a match at WrestleMania, The Rock has since taken a break from the ring to star in ‘The Smashing Machine’, a film about the life of MMA- pioneer Mark Kerr.

However, in his most recent appearance on RAW, he hinted at unfinished business with Rhodes, leading to a possible showdown between the two at WrestleMania 41 next year.

Lesnar, meanwhile, has been absent from WWE programming for more than 12 months, with a rumored return earlier this year reportedly scrapped after his name was reportedly mentioned in the ongoing lawsuit against Vince McMahon.

However, multiple reports suggest that the former UFC champion could return to the ring soon, especially after WWE chief Triple H gave a major update to Mail Sport regarding his status with the company.
