The DJI Mavic 3 is undeniably a great drone, but it’s also three years old. A recently leaked image purportedly showing the DJI Mavic 4 suggests that a newer model could be on the way soon.
This leak comes from @Quadro_News on X (via Check notebook), a tipster with a solid track record for DJI leaks. The photo shows what appears to be a redesigned camera housing for the Mavic 4, right next to a DJI Mavic 3 Pro.
We can’t make out much from the image, but @OsitaLV on X has spotted what looks to be 90-degree pitch capabilities for the camera – potentially giving users even more flexibility when it comes to capturing the perfect footage. There may also be sensor upgrades in here, it seems.
What we don’t get are indications of camera specs. For reference, the Pro version of the DJI Mavic 3, also visible in this photo, offers a Four Thirds 20MP Hasselblad main camera, plus two telephoto cameras.
DJI Mavic 4 Launch Date

The next question is, when will we see the DJI Mavic 4 hit the market? The company has already launched the compact DJI Neo this year, as well as the DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro GoPro rival, and signs are that the DJI Mavic 4 will also hit the market in 2024.
That would be a busy few months for DJI, but perhaps with the looming US ban on DJI, the company feels it needs to release as much hardware as possible before restrictions are imposed.
The only notable DJI Mavic 4 leak we’ve seen so far also involved a photo of the camera setup. However, we’re still largely in the dark when it comes to the specs and capabilities of these cameras.
In the meantime, we’ve seen several leaks surrounding the DJI Air 3S mid-range drone, which hint at major camera upgrades and show the drone in flight. This is another model that could potentially make an appearance in the coming months.
