Leah Remini is a ‘mess’ after dropping off her daughter Sofia at her new college in New York.
On Monday, the 52-year-old actress wrote a lengthy post on Instagram, sharing that she and her husband are “more messy now” after their 18-year-old daughter returned to school last week.
Sofia had been attending an unnamed university for the past year, but felt it was not a good fit for her, so she returned home.
Now the teenager is starting a new university in Manhattan.
Leah, who is also a college student as she is in her sophomore year at NYU, wrote in her caption how proud she was that Sofia decided to “correct course” after deciding that “school didn’t make sense to her.”

In her latest post, the King of Queens star shared a clip from her 2014 TLC reality show Leah Remini: It’s All Relative as she reminisced about the time Sofia was still living at home.
She wrote about how hard it’s been to become an empty nester after looking back on the video of her family: “The videos of our reality show make me very emotional.”
In her caption, the Emmy-winning actress expressed how proud she was of her daughter for making a choice that was more suitable for her, while also apparently referring to her own departure from the Church of Scientology in 2013. .
“One of the things I have learned in life is that there is always time to correct course,” he wrote.

“In August, our daughter Sofía enrolled in a university that she thought was for her,” she recalled. “I moved her into a bedroom and came home heartbroken to a quiet house.”

She continued: ‘You’d think the second time around would be easier, but Angelo and I are even more complicated now.
“She’s back now, going through all the things a college freshman should go through, and we her parents are going through what parents like us go through.”
The Kevin Can Wait alum also opened up about how she and her husband are dealing with becoming empty nesters.
She said they have been “crying, not knowing what to do with ourselves now other than look at photos and videos and cry some more.”

Less than a year after getting married, they welcomed their daughter Sofia.
In the past, the Living Dolls alum has also revealed how her daughter was the inspiration and driving force in her decision to leave the Church of Scientology in 2013.
Since then, she has written and published a book titled Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology, detailing her past before she became an apostate and after being raised in the religion since she was eight years old.
