Leah and Ash reveal the toxic politics behind this year’s dramatic season of The Block
The Block’s Leah and Ash have spoken out about their controversial friendship with this season’s ‘villains’, Kristy and Brett.
Speak with News.com On Friday, the couple appeared to distance themselves from the couple and the toxic behavior that fans have found so distressing in the 2023 series thus far.
“Kristy and I only had The Block as a topic of conversation – we don’t know each other’s lives – so our conversation was so much about The Block,” Leah said.
“At first it was just jokes here and there, but as the weeks went by, I thought it became a bit snarky.”
Leah’s comments come on the heels of her meltdown on Wednesday’s episode, when fans accused her online of being “fake.”

Sparks flew after a night out went wrong when Leah allegedly rejected former pal Kristy in favor of fellow Blockheads Eliza and Liberty.
Leah revealed that she and Ash ‘really liked’ Eliza and Liberty and said things came to a head after Kristy and Brett started a conspiracy theory accusing the sisters of being ‘planted’ by Channel Nine – and receiving special treatment to get.
Leah said it had gone too far, adding: ‘It was time to take a step back and look at the role we had played in all of this.’

This season of reality series has been criticized for bullying among the Blockheads
Still, the couple has expressed their disappointment with the way their relationship with the sisters is going this season.
“You know what scared me?” said Leah.
“How much the girls would talk about us behind our backs. We didn’t expect that – we had a really good relationship with the girls, we went to their house most nights, they Facetimed our kids… I was a bit shocked by that.”
It comes after The Block viewers accused Leah of having a ‘fake’ meltdown this week.
The drama started when Kristy noticed Leah was missing during a planned nightclub visit after requesting their favorite song.
Kristy then confronted Leah for hanging out with Eliza and Liberty instead of joining her in the club.
After the incident, Leah broke down as she told her husband Ash: ‘They both said things that went way too far, and you and I laughed about it. We should shout it out. Not saying something actually speaks louder.’
“Leah’s tears just don’t phase me. She keeps saying she and Ash are guilty by association but neither girlfriend, you are guilty because you participated,” one person tweeted.
“Leah, you were still making comments as you walked up the stairs to reveal the kitchen. No one believes your little facade #TheBlock,” wrote another.
“How can Leah suddenly be so nice because she’s so nasty to Steph. She’s so fake!! #TheBlock,” a third commented.
