Lea Michele drapes baby bump in flowy black dress for NYC stroll with her mother… after revealing she had three miscarriages and needed surgery before current pregnancy

Lea Michele wore a black dress with her blossoming baby bump this week while out and about in New York City with her mother Edith Sarfati.

The 37-year-old Glee star and her husband Zandy Reich announced in March that they were expecting their second child, a girl.

They are already the proud parents of a three-year-old son named Ever, whom they welcomed in August 2020, about a year and a half after their wedding.

For her latest outing, Lea, who is now in her third trimester, wore a stylish black floor-length dress with a slit on one side.

She wore her dark hair in a high bun and completed the look with ballet flats, round sunglasses and a sparkly necklace.

Lea’s latest observation comes after she opened up about the difficult fertility journey she went through before becoming pregnant with her second child.

She had three miscarriages and was eventually diagnosed with endometriosis, requiring surgery and “1,000 injections,” she said.

The Broadway star made the revelation on the BDA Baby podcast hosted by Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver’s daughter Katherine, who is currently pregnant with her movie star husband Chris Pratt.

While trying to conceive her new baby, Lea “had two consecutive, very early, failed pregnancies,” leaving her “shocked” as she had “never had a miscarriage before.”

She said: ‘The first time I thought, “That was weird.” Then it happened again right away and I thought, “Wait a minute. Something’s not right.”‘

At that point, she considered ‘taking a break’ from trying to have another child, reasoning that maybe it wasn’t the ‘right time’ yet.

The Spring Awakening star eventually suffered a third miscarriage “a little bit later” while she was in labor. She found it “super hard” to “process what we were going through at the same time, which was very painful.”

She decided to ‘dig deeper’ and find out the cause of her medical problems. She consulted medical professionals and was diagnosed with endometriosis.

She underwent surgery and was prescribed “so many medications and drugs,” including “1,000 injections,” after which she became pregnant with her daughter.

A few years ago, shortly after Ever turned two, she shared that she bled heavily during her first pregnancy and had to rest in bed.

“I still wasn’t sure if the pregnancy would last,” she said on The Drew Barrymore Show. ‘It was horrible. It was the lowest point of my whole life.’

However, she also noted that the ordeal brought her and Zandy closer together. She said, “Having a son and the challenges we went through during pregnancy, unfortunately, created a stronger bond in us.”
