Lauren initially shared a statement with her followers apologizing for the slow response due to her health condition.

She then explained that she developed a small hernia during her “traumatic birth” of her late daughter Lorena in July 2022. Doctors told her it was “nothing to worry about” and that surgery was not necessary.

But Lauren said she woke up two days ago with “pain and swelling,” which eventually got worse, leaving her in a lot of pain and “a lot of discomfort.”

After a visit to the doctor, Lauren said the swelling has since become infected, which has led to “a few other issues.” The TV star is currently taking antibiotics and hopes surgery won’t be necessary.

In a second slide on her Instagram Stories, Lauren added that she is now on a “major health kick” to aid her recovery. The mother emphasized that she does not want surgery, as she fears it will be difficult to support her daughter Larose during the two-week recovery period.

She continued to insist that she would resume her fitness training once her hernia healed and that she would follow a strict diet for health reasons.

She concluded, “I really want [to] clear this infection and get back to living. Right now I’m scared and in pain and just watching for signs that could be dangerous.’

Hernias are common and occur when part of an organ becomes displaced and pushes through the structure, creating a bulge in the skin.

In women, we often see paraumbilical hernias — or “umbilical hernias” — which occur just above the belly button and are usually the result of a natural weakening of the abdominal wall after the muscles of the abdomen have been stretched during pregnancy. Also common are incisional hernias, where a previous surgery has taken place.

Earlier this week, Lauren shared an update about her gym with her Instagram followers. She had been out of the gym for three and a half weeks due to health concerns, but that was not announced at the time.

The beauty shared a mirror selfie and said she felt “strong” after her first day back at the gym.

Lauren wore a loose-fitting black T-shirt and white shorts as summer temperatures rose across the UK.

The TV personality had her hair tied in a loose ponytail and went makeup-free for almost a month.

She captioned the post, “After 3.5 weeks of zero workouts and diet… today was my first day back and I felt strong! I wasn’t sure how I would do but I’m back!! “

‘I had a health issue for a while. I trained most days for 2.5 months, but then it went back to 0 because of the stress of life and other distractions. And then I have 6 weeks of vacation!’

‘Day 1, every day, always come back and start again!’

WHAT IS A HERNIA?

A hernia is a common problem that occurs when an internal body part pushes through a weak spot in the muscle or surrounding tissue wall.

It can develop between your chest and your hips and cause swelling or a lump in your abdomen or groin. In many cases, surgery is needed.

If you think you have a hernia, you should see your doctor.

If you develop the following symptoms, you should go to the emergency room:

  • Sudden, severe pain
  • Being ill
  • Difficulty pooping or passing gas
  • The hernia becomes hard or tender, or cannot be pushed back in

These symptoms may mean that:

  • The blood supply to part of an organ or tissue trapped in the hernia is cut off (strangulation)
  • A piece of intestine has entered the hernia and is blocked (obstruction)

A strangulated hernia and a blocked bowel are medical emergencies and should be treated as soon as possible.
