Lauren Boebert’s former husband Jayson pleads guilty to reckless endangerment charges in deal with prosecutors

Lauren Boebert’s ex-husband Jayson has avoided jail after pleading guilty to reckless endangerment as part of a plea deal with Colorado prosecutors.

Boebert faced multiple charges earlier this year over two incidents involving Republican Rep. and their son Tyler, 18.

The first involved claims of domestic violence at a restaurant in Silt, where the 37-year-old congressman denied punching him in the face after making “indecent” advances.

The second was when he allegedly attacked the teenage boy during a fight over laundry at their home.

Boebert, 43, accepted a deal Wednesday from the 9th Judicial District Attorney’s Office in which he pleaded guilty to one count of reckless endangerment.

The crime carries a maximum of 120 days in jail and a $750 fine, but he was able to leave court and was only fined $40. Westword reported.

The Boeberts married in 2005 and separated in 2023, but continued to make headlines with their rocky divorce and legal troubles.

Rep. Boebert — who became a grandmother at the age of 36 — had asked for a restraining order against Jayson to protect her children after the altercation.

But she later wanted it scrapped after they came to a “strict agreement.”

Tyler is also awaiting trial after being arrested in late February for a series of shoplifting incidents.

The teen faces four counts of criminal possession of a financial device, three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and three counts of theft under $300.

He also faces four felony counts of criminal possession of multiple victims’ identity documents, one misdemeanor count of conspiracy to commit a crime and an additional fifteen other misdemeanors and minor misdemeanors.

His mother, Rep. Boebert, has also faced a series of controversies while running for office in a new district in Colorado.

In September 2023, she was removed from a theater in Denver after falling in love with her date.

Boebert was filmed lashing out at theater staff after she was booted from a Beetlejuice performance for singing along – with staff claiming she also vaped and took photos during the performance.

Surveillance footage shows Boebert, wearing a tight, low-cut gold dress and high heels, making a fuss as she and a handsome, mysterious man are sent away.

She can be seen taking a selfie as she leaves the venue and angrily baring her teeth at the staff as she is escorted through the lobby.

According to The Denver Post, the lawmaker declared at one point, “Do you know who I am?” Afterwards, Boebert and her smartly dressed date were caught on camera walking through the empty nighttime streets of the Mile High City.

Just weeks later, Boebert was accused of using campaign funds to watch a bicycle race in which her partner that evening, Aspen bar owner Quinn Gallagher, was participating.

Days before the restaurant incident, the focus of Jayson’s first arrest, the Boeberts were rocked by allegations of domestic violence.

“Tyler described Jayson shoving him by placing a hand near his throat/neck and pushing back,” wrote Deputy Cid Ramirez of the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office.

Tyler became upset at that point,” Ramirez continued, adding that “a physical altercation quickly ensued between Jayson and him.”

As the fight between father and son escalated, he added, the father of four allegedly “put his right thumb in Tyler’s mouth.”

The force of the maneuver, the Colorado officer claimed, made the teen fear his father would “pull his tooth out.”

At some point during the struggle, Ramirez wrote, Tyler managed to get out his cell phone and call his mother, who became a grandmother last year after Tyler fathered a boy with his also-teenage girlfriend.

The rioter reportedly responded by telling the boy to call police, who eventually arrived on the scene around 1 a.m. Tuesday.
