Jayson Boebert has broken his silence to express his “unconditional love” and support for his children following the arrest Tuesday of Tyler, 18, his eldest son with Congresswoman Lauren Boebert.

Jayson, 42, spoke exclusively to DailyMail.com and gave a raw and heartfelt reaction to the news, which broke on Wednesday morning.

He acknowledged that he has failed at times as a father, but said he is determined to always improve. He expressed his “unwavering” faith in all of his children – and he shared his faith in Tyler’s future.

He said, “I know my son is a good-hearted child and has a whole life ahead of him.”

Tyler was arrested Tuesday and held overnight at the Garfield County Jail in Colorado.

He has been charged with 22 charges relating to a series of car burglaries and theft of property. His most serious charges are four felony counts of criminal possession of an ID and conspiracy to commit a crime.

Other charges include three of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

On Wednesday, Jayson focused on his family, saying, “My love for my children is unconditional and I promise to stand by them unwaveringly through all of life’s challenges.

“Making sure I am there for my children no matter the circumstances is a value I hold dear as a parent.”

For his part, Jayson said, “I hope to continually develop and refine my parenting skills. I am committed to providing my children with the best possible support and guidance.

“Even though I sometimes feel like I have failed, I will continue to improve.”

This isn’t Tyler’s first run-in with police, although it is his most serious.

In April, a friend claimed he was injured because Tyler was driving “so damn fast” that he flipped the vehicle they were both riding in.

Noble D’Amato, 19, accused the Boebert family of “covering up” the incident Tyler came from with a simple careless driving ticket, which was later changed to a “defective vehicle for headlights” ticket. The teen also had to attend a court-ordered driving school.

It’s been a tumultuous few months for the Boeberts.

Lauren, 37, and Jayson welcomed their first grandchild with the birth of Tyler’s child with his girlfriend last April.

That same month, the congressman filed for divorce and the couple’s 16-year marriage officially ended with a final hearing last September.

Jayson spoke about his own sense of failure at the time, standing up for his ex-wife in the face of public criticism and blaming himself in a Facebook post claiming he was the “root” of the split which he described as “devastating.” ‘

Now, Jayson has exclusively told DailyMail.com how, in the months since the split, he has channeled his energy into being the best father he can to the couple’s four sons: Tyler, Brody, 17, Kaydon, 13, and Roman, 10.

He admits that he is not always right.

He said: “Being a father in today’s challenging world can be a tough task. With the constant bombardment of information and influences from all angles, it can be easy to feel overwhelmed and uncertain about the best way to guide your children.”

He pointed out the “challenges” the country has faced in recent years, such as the Covid-19 shutdown, which increased depression among young people.

He said, “Despite our best efforts, sometimes we will fall short.”

Boebert’s job as a consultant at an energy company keeps him away from home for weeks.

According to Jayson, balancing work, family and home life and striving to be a good role model for your children can be incredibly demanding as a parent.

“Furthermore, the spotlight of today’s media can magnify and distort even the smallest aspects of your life.”

Both Jayson and Lauren have found themselves at the heart of media storms over the past six months.

In January, Jayson was charged with two counts of assault after an altercation with his ex-wife at a restaurant in their hometown of Rifle that resulted in him calling the police, and an incident with Tyler that got out of hand.

Meanwhile, Lauren was publicly humiliated when surveillance footage surfaced of her new husband, Aspen bar owner Quinn Gallagher, 46, behaving in a way that got them both thrown out of a Denver theater.

At one point, Lauren had her hand in Gallagher’s lap as he fondled her breasts. At other times, the pair were found talking loudly and singing along to the production of Beetlejuice, despite repeated requests from other patrons to keep production quiet.

According to Jayson, it is impossible for any family to remain impervious to the maelstrom of publicity in which his family so often has to function.

He said: “It is disheartening to see your actions or words misrepresented and sensationalized, painting the wrong picture to the public. These disruptions not only create tension within your family, but also affect your reputation and relationships outside the home.’

There is, he admitted, no road map, but he said: “As a father navigating this complex landscape, it is critical to stay true to your values, communicate openly with your loved ones and remember that perfection is unattainable .’

For Jayson, no matter the challenges that lie ahead, “striving to have an honest and sincere relationship with your children and keeping them on the right path despite outside challenges and pressures is what really matters in the end.”
