Lauren Boebert’s ex-husband has defended her amid backlash over a video of her and her date fondling each other in a theater last week, claiming he is partially responsible for her lewd behavior.
The Colorado congresswoman sparked outrage after she and her boyfriend Quinn Gallagher were caught on camera doing some heavy petting during a Beetlejuice performance in Denver.
They were kicked out of the theater, after which Boebert was caught giving an usher the finger as she stormed out of the family-friendly play.
Jayson Boebert, who was married to the politician for 18 years before filing for divorce in May, has defended the mother of his four children, saying his years of infidelity “destroyed her.”
‘A large part of this is my fault, because the problem starts at the root. I am the carrot,” Boebert said Monday.
In a lengthy apology on Facebook, he said he could not remain silent amid the “attacks” on his former husband and that “this is partly my fault,” pleading with her voters and the nation to “give her a chance.” .

“As I look at the attacks against Lauren, I believe people need to know the truth about our broken marriage and the burden she has carried for too long,” he said, adding that they take “full responsibility” for their divorce took.

Boebert was again captured on camera in the lobby giving the ushers the finger as she left.

Boebert, 36, denied vaping – despite doing so in full public view and on camera. Her spokesperson said there had been “a misunderstanding by someone sitting next to her” who had not noticed the “heavy fog machines and electronic cigarettes used during the piece.”
Boebert initially denied the vaping claims, claiming the smoke was actually from a fog machine, and issued a sarcastic statement that downplayed the anger.
But she made a dramatic U-turn on Friday night, blaming her behavior on her “public and difficult divorce.”
“The past few days have been difficult and humbling, and I am truly sorry,” she wrote in a statement.
“There is no perfect blueprint for going through a public and difficult divorce, which has created a challenging personal time for me and my entire family over the past few months.”
Boebert’s divorce from 36-year-old Jayson, her husband of 18 years and father of her four sons, is still ongoing following the couple’s shocking divorce in May.
Boerbert has maintained that she had been faithful throughout her marriage. Her ex-husband has now admitted to being unfaithful.

Boebert described their divorce as “devastating” and made it clear that he was entirely responsible for the failure of their marriage.
“I was unfaithful to Lauren in so many ways. I should have always done my best, just like them.
“My actions were selfish and thoughtless, and I did not consider the consequences they would ultimately have on the person I hold most dear in my heart.”
He also made it clear that the suggestion that his Republican ex left him because of her “fame or a new lifestyle” was “far from the truth.”
