Lauren Boebert turns up to Trump trial just days after her son appeared in court on felony charges without her

Lauren Boebert was the latest in a long line of Republicans loyal to Donald Trump to show up at his ongoing criminal trial in Manhattan on Thursday.

Boebert appeared alongside Republicans in Florida Anna Paulina Luna, Michael Waltz and Matt Gaetz, Andy Ogles of Tennessee and Republican Andy Biggs of Arizona.

“President Trump is not going anywhere,” Boebert said as hecklers interrupted her. ‘And we’re not going anywhere. We are here to assist him.”

But Boebert’s presence was roundly mocked after it was noted how the Republican troublemaker failed to appear at the criminal trial of her own teenage son Tyler.

Tyler Boebert, 18, was arrested in late February and faces misdemeanor charges in connection with a series of recent vehicle violations and theft of property in Rifle, Colorado.

During a court appearance earlier this week, Tyler told the judge he was confronted financial problems and could not afford a lawyer.

Yet his mother, who earns at least $175,000 a year as the U.S. representative for Colorado’s third congressional district, did not attend her son’s hearing.

It led some critics to question her parenting choices.

‘Lauren Boebert in court to support Trump, but absent from her son’s hearing. Is there anything else she can do to show how terrible she is as a caring, responsible parent role model?’ asked Bill Smith on X.

“Boebert doesn’t show up for her son’s criminal court hearings, where he says he can’t afford a lawyer. Instead, the MAGA Mother of the Year is in New York to reach out to Donald Trump,” said former Republican staffer Ron Filipkowski.

As Matt Gaetz and Lauren Boebert travel to New York City to attend the Trump trial, here’s a reminder: Boebert’s teenage son Tyler Boebert sat in court seven days ago, without his mother and without a lawyer (he said he was having trouble had to pay a). In late February, things took another unfortunate turn for Boebert after her son, Tyler, 18, was picked up by police in Rifle, Colorado on 22 different charges.

The Republican lawmaker’s son is facing nearly two dozen different charges, including four counts of criminal possession of a financial device, three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and three counts of theft under $300.

He also faces four felony counts of criminal possession of multiple victims’ identification documents, one misdemeanor count of conspiracy to commit a crime and another 15 other misdemeanors and minor misdemeanors, police said. local law enforcement.

He and three underage accomplices are accused of breaking into four cars to steal wallets to make purchases at local businesses.

During a hearing before Judge Nieley in April, Tyler Boebert told the court he could not afford an attorney for his trial.

“We’re in the process of hiring a lawyer, but it’s just been a little tough with the pricing, but we’re working on it,” the teen said at the time.

Tyler will appear in court on June 15.

Just days after the teen’s arrest made national headlines, a woman came forward claiming that Tyler Boebert ransacked her car and took $75 cash, two Venmo debit cards and her mother’s credit card.

‘[The woman] informed [police that] she has a brain tumor and now she has no money to have her surgery,” police wrote in the affidavit.

The woman’s driver’s license was also in the stolen wallet, the arresting officer wrote — before revealing that the thieves returned it to her a few days after the alleged theft, which occurred on Feb. 21.

Police have said the four involved in the crime spent their ill-gotten gains at McDonald’s, Starbucks and local gas stations.

The thieves tried to use the brain tumor-stricken woman’s two Venmo cards at a nearby Kum & Go gas station, a court document said, citing transaction records.

They also tried to use her mother’s credit card, before allegedly using the cash and cards stolen from the four cars to buy food at a nearby McDonald’s, although the banks soon began reducing the charges.

They also tried to order $717 worth of merchandise from Shein.com, the agent wrote, as well as $175 at the Kum and Go, and $10.95 at a Starbucks.

Boebert himself is trying to win a seat in the state’s Fourth Congressional District after two terms in the third.

Boebert has battled the perception among liberals and even some moderate Republicans of her reckless nature, with a series of scandals spanning her time in office, most infamously when she was asked to leave a Beetlejuice performance for sexually groping her date.

Boebert — who divorced her husband in 2023 amid domestic violence allegations — was filmed lashing out at theater staff after being kicked out of the show.

Surveillance footage shows Boebert, wearing a tight, low-cut gold dress and high heels, making a fuss as she and a handsome, mysterious man are sent away.

She can be seen taking a selfie as she leaves the venue and angrily baring her teeth at the staff as she is escorted through the lobby.

It marked just the latest drama involving the politician whose biggest hits include accusations that she punched her ex-husband, accusations that she pointed a gun at an Obama-supporting aide and trying to prove that a WWE star was her biological father.
