US. Rep. Lauren Boebert was accused of telling fellow congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene to get the shit out of her face during the House Speaker vote.
In the midst of a series of contentious voting sessions in which Kevin McCarthy failed to become House speaker 14 times before succeeding, Republican congresswomen were caught turning on each other when Boebert was one of the withheld votes.
Cameras caught the moment Greene, a staunch McCarthy supporter, rolled her eyes and tapped Boebert on the shoulder, telling him: “You’ve got to stop.”
Boebert is seen giving only a quick response before looking straight ahead, with onlookers suggesting that she had cursed out her fellow Freedom Caucus member.
It was just one of the heated moments on Friday night on the final day of voting, which was followed by Rep. Mike Rogers of Alabama accusing Rep. Matt Gaetz, who McCarthry pleaded with to stop delaying his certification.
US. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (top right) could be seen rolling her eyes as she approached Republican Reps. Matt Gaetz (left) and Lauren Boebert (center).
As Greene tells Boebert to stop opposing Kevin McCarthy, the Colorado congresswoman quickly responds and ignores her colleague.
Viewers have suggested that Boebert said “get the shit out of my face.”
The confrontation with Boebert was not the only time Greene clashed with his fellow representatives during the Friday night vote.
Greene also reportedly reached out to Arizona Rep. Matt Rosendale, telling him that Donald Trump was on the phone. A shot of Greene shaking his phone showed that he was on call with someone called ‘DT’.
Rosendale, an early holdout, could be seen ignoring her.
According to Politico, a person familiar with the exchange said Trump told the group to “stop doing it.”
The confrontation was a game changer for the two Freedom Caucus members who were celebrated as friends after yelling at Joe Biden during his State of the Union address last March.
Boebert wasn’t the only detractor Greene tried to confront on the final day of voting. In the photo, he tried to get Arizona Rep. Matt Rosendale to take a call from Donald Trump.
Following the exchange with Greene, Boebert and Gaetz frustrated the Republican leadership when they voted against McCarthy, forcing him to request the fifteenth and final ballot.
It was at this point that Rogers pounced on Gaetz for delaying certification yet again.
A visibly angry Rogers, one of McCarthy’s main supporters, had to be restrained by Rep. Richard Hudson of North Carolina.
Rogers has been reported to have told Gaetz that he is “done” for continuing to screw up the speaker’s vote and was also heard saying, “I won’t forget this.”
Boebert and Gaetz (pictured together Friday night) were among the key figures opposing Kevin McCarthy’s bid to become House speaker.
After taking the night to its 15th voting session, US Representative Mike Rogers appeared to attack Gaetz, and Congressman Richard Hudson stopped him (above).
Rogers is expected to be named chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, and several reports have suggested that Gaetz was holding out on supporting McCarthy until he was promised the job.
When asked about this, McCarthy told the media that “no one is promised anything.” In the aftermath, Greene, an ardent McCarthy supporter, told reporters: “There will be consequences” for Rogers’ actions.
Greene added: ‘Mike Rogers lost his temper and was basically going to, you know, get his hands on Matt. And it was actually Richard Hudson: he grabbed Mike Rogers from behind and pulled him away.
She added: ‘So yeah, that was completely out of line. And then I’m sure it will be fixed.
While North Carolina Rep. Patrick McHenry weighed in on the fight saying, “I’ve seen three or four times like, that would even come close to that in my 18 years, and that, that could have taken the cake.”
Republican Congressman Tim Burchett of Tennessee said: “Honestly, I’m not going to be threatened by anybody, and if anyone gets their hands on me, I’m going to drop it like a bag of garbage,” Burchett told reporters. early Saturday.”I really will, man. That’s not…I’m not one to back down from a fight.
