TNT Sports presenter Laura Woods couldn’t keep a straight face as Les Ferdinand listed the priorities of Newcastle fans ahead of their Champions League clash with Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday night.
Woods is currently dating former Love Island star Adam Collard, who hails from Newcastle, and the couple recently made their relationship public.
They appeared smitten with each other on social media, but Ferdinand suggested the Geordie faithful tend to put other things before the women in their lives.
The ex-Newcastle striker explained to Woods: ‘A few lads said to me: “Football, the women and then work in that order!” Do you know what I mean? Football simply means everything here and as a player you have to know that.’
Ferdinand’s comment elicited a giggle from Woods, who joked: “What about the wife and work!?” as she pretended to be offended, before adding, “But no, I understand what you’re saying. It’s very, very special for them.”

Whether 28-year-old Collard sees things that way is another matter, as he has appeared on several dating shows in recent years.
He appeared on Love Island in 2018 and 2022, before going on Celebs Go Dating earlier this year.
Collard briefly dated Lottie Moss, model Kate’s half-sister, on the last show but is now with Woods.
He recently declared that she is “the one,” making it clear that things are getting “serious” between the two.
Newcastle were cheered on by their typically passionate supporters on Wednesday but slipped to a 1-0 defeat by Dortmund, leaving their Champions League group wide open.
Felix Nmecha scored the only goal of the match on the stroke of half-time as Dortmund moved Newcastle into second place in Group F.
Newcastle came close to a point late on but were twice denied by the woodwork.
It was a costly evening for Eddie Howe’s men, with Alexander Isak and Jacob Murphy both picking up injuries.
Meanwhile, Sandro Tonali came off the bench to make what was expected to be his final appearance of the season, with the Italian midfielder set to receive a 10-month ban for illegal football betting.
