Laura Woods’ boyfriend Adam Collard hits back at online troll’s sick claim that he was involved in the TNT Sports presenter’s freak accident that left her with cuts to her arms and face

Adam Collard has faced a nasty suggestion on social media that he was involved in Laura Woods’ freak accident, which left the TNT Sports presenter with cuts to her face and arms last week.

Conspicuous by her absence ahead of Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk’s historic heavyweight match in Saudi Arabia, the broadcaster’s flagship presenter took to social media on Friday evening to share painful-looking photos of her recent injuries.

Alongside photos of a cut on her right eyebrow and of her awaiting surgery in hospital, Woods also shared a lengthy explanation of exactly how the incident happened, mentioning her gratitude that her partner – Collard – had been present. to help her.

But a social media troll disputed the version of events, claiming the 28-year-old had been at fault, writing: ‘Adam Collard you know what you are.’

The former Love Island star immediately wanted to refute the accusation and responded with a blunt retort.

Woods also posted a photo of Collard waiting for her in hospital, with the former Love Island star describing her ‘hero’.

“Shut up you stupid **** and read her Instagram post,” Collard wrote.

Woods wrote about the circumstances of her accident and took to social media to describe how she became entangled in a glass lamp while on holiday with the fitness trainer.

‘I just wanted to explain my absence from television, to be completely transparent and avoid any speculation. Last weekend I had an accident at a holiday home,” she said.

“I swung a pillow and hit a large glass lampshade hanging from the ceiling above me, which shattered and cut my face and arms, but luckily missed my eye,” she continued.

Her post continued: ‘I just wanted to say a few thanks, firstly to Adam for being my hero that day, acting so quickly and not leaving my side since, and to his family who took care of me at a time when I petrify.

“To my agents Alex Maguire and Matthew Odonohue at CAA who immediately sought the best help. To Doctor Yannis Alexandrides and his wonderful medical assistant Zuzanna from 111, who opened their emergency surgery and came in on their days off: They were so gentle and have already performed magic that I didn’t think it was possible to limit the damage.

At the time, Collard shared his support under the caption, writing in the comments section that his partner was a “little trooper (two heart emojis).”

Woods and Collard first made their relationship public in October and it appears they spent many private getaways together prior to their latest cottage drama.

In April, the pair traveled to Mexico, just two months after taking a group ski holiday in the French Alps with friends.

Collard has previously discussed his intention to ‘marry’ the broadcaster, saying: ‘I’m protective, whether it’s Laura, or my family, my friends. I want to get married. I also want to have children. I always thought: what kind of person will I be? How can I protect my children?
