Laura Anderson claims ex Gary Lucy hasn’t seen their baby daughter Bonnie for nearly six months
Laura Anderson claims Gary Lucy hasn’t seen their daughter Bonnie in almost six months.
The former Love Island star, 35, shares daughter Bonnie, nine months, with the Hollyoaks star, but as he attacked a troll on Instagram, he claimed he hadn’t seen her since early January.
In response to a troll who wondered if Bonnie ever sees her dad, Laura replied: “Do you mean her father saw her…. No, he hasn’t done that since January 2nd if you wanted to ask him those questions as I have no control over the actions of others x.”
A representative for Gary declined to comment when contacted by MailOnlne.
Laura previously described the challenges she faced raising Bonnie as a single parent after she and Gary split before she was born.
Laura Anderson has claimed Gary Lucy hasn’t seen their daughter Bonnie in almost six months as she hit back at a troll in an Instagram comment on Sunday
She told The Mirror: ‘I think it was hard to wrap my head around it at first, it wasn’t what I expected. But those are the cards I was ultimately dealt. Of course I’m going to make it work for my child, and then some. To be honest, I feel like I’m a really good mother.”
Giving advice to other parents facing the same challenges, she added: ‘Prioritize what you need to do, I’m the only one. I have to make it work. I’m tired, but of course I’ll be tired too. I’m raising a human soul, that’s what I signed up for.
‘[Bonnie’s] Great, your social life is a bit in the background, but most people, your close friends, understand that.
‘Think of how many mothers there are who struggle with work-life balance, it’s not just me. It’s so relatable and that’s the best thing about ‘Love Island’: the fact that I have a following on social media, I really understand it better since I’ve had a baby. It’s so nice to resonate and it’s a really positive place.
“It’s just full of moms, it’s not just about ‘you’re trying to look sexy all the time’ because that’s not important.”
Laura’s appearance comes after Laura revealed last month what really happened when she recently had to rush her daughter Bonnie to the emergency room.
Speaking to MailOnline, Laura said she ‘knew straight away’ something was wrong with her only child when she told of her ‘frightening’ hospital visit.
Laura, the new presenter of the Scotland Capital breakfast show with co-host Fat Brestovci, revealed she had come home from work to find her little girl ‘didn’t seem like herself’.
The pair met on E4 series Celebs Go Dating in 2022 but split shortly after Laura became pregnant with their daughter
In response to a troll who wondered if Bonnie ever sees her dad, Laura replied, “You mean her dad has seen her…. No, he hasn’t done that since January 2
She explained that Bonnie, who she shares with ex Gary Lucy, had a very high temperature and an elevated heart rate.
Laura said: ‘I was so shocked because I came straight from Capital and I was courting a nanny so she didn’t know her that well and I came in and just looked at her and I thought you were so smiley and happy most of the time , but she didn’t really seem like herself.
‘I knew straight away and then I picked her up and I felt she was so warm and I took her temperature and it was 39 and the thermometer turned red and flashed like an alarm.
‘I called 911 and it said it was temporarily unavailable and I thought, “Oh my god, I don’t know what to do,” so I called the children’s hospital near me and said don’t be too dramatic wanted to be and they said: come to the emergency room immediately.’
She continued, “My heart just sank. I thought, oh, I’m not exaggerating. I was trying not to be stressed, her temperature had dropped a bit and they were doing loads of tests and they had to try to get urine from her which was a nightmare.
‘They got some Calpol in her because she wouldn’t take it from me and then I took her to the GP the next day and they checked her again because her temperature was still quite high.
“She’s just getting better, they said sometimes they can get something viral and it can also increase their heart rate if they have a fever, so that’s quite alarming.”
Laura also told MailOnline about the ‘worries’ of balancing life as a single parent with her new full-time job.
She revealed that she has been busy trying out for babysitting, but her mother has now decided to ‘quit her job’ and care for Bonnie full-time.
The ITV2 star said: ‘I was a bit stressed, how do you trust someone you don’t know to look after your little baby.
“My mother has now said she’s going to quit her job and I’m going to basically hire her instead of a nanny I don’t know, and she’ll have her for me every morning.
“I feel like now I can just hang in Capital and not have to worry about Bonnie, it just puts my mind at ease and I can focus on my work when I’m there.
“This is the happiest I’ve ever been, it’s just such a weight lifted off my shoulders. I don’t have a partner to help me juggle it, so it just feels like a weight has been lifted.”
Laura added that she would “like to meet a new partner in the future” but that she doesn’t feel “100 percent ready yet” as she is busy “juggling” being a single mother.
She said: “I just don’t see how I would have time right now, but in the future, of course, I would like to have a family like that.” I’m open to that in the future, but right now I just feel like I don’t have time for a man.’
Laura confirmed earlier this year that she is ‘happily single’ after fans questioned the state of her relationship with Gary
Laura and Gary met while filming Celebs Go Dating in July 2022 and have been together on and off since.
Laura confirmed earlier this year that she is ‘happily single’ after fans were left questioning the state of her relationship with Gary.
The pair were believed to be back together after sharing a kissing post on New Year’s Eve.
Gary fueled rumors they had split after he was spotted at a party with a mystery woman earlier this year.
‘Gary looked very cozy with a girl at the table and whispered in her ear. He was clearly there for a fun night and didn’t care who was watching,” a source told MailOnline.
Meanwhile, Laura was busy posting videos and photos of her day with their daughter.
The couple have had a tumultuous relationship after meeting on E4 reality show Celebs Go Dating in 2022.
The couple announced they were having a child in February 2023, but split shortly afterwards.
Since Bonnie’s birth in September, there has been increasing speculation about the couple’s relationship status, with the pair hinting in numerous short stints together that they were secretly back together.
