Latrell Mitchell’s agent appeared before the cameras during the white powder scandal that has rocked the NRL.

A photo purportedly showing Souths fullback Mitchell (27) leaning over a table containing an unknown white substance went viral over the weekend, prompting an investigation by the NRL Integrity Unit.

Mitchell has shuttered his Sydney home following the scandal but was questioned by the NRL on Tuesday.

And amid the media storm, Mitchell’s adviser Matt Rose answered questions outside his home.

“Latrell is doing well,” he told 7NEWS.

‘Yeah, I mean, at the moment he’s not allowed to comment under NRL rules.’

The photo is believed to have been taken last weekend in Dubbo, where Mitchell was helping to lead a women’s football clinic.

“Has he had a chance to actually speak to the integrity unit to explain himself? That’s all happening at the moment,” Rose said.

“Once that’s done, he can talk to you.”

Mitchell’s NSW Blues teammate Jarome Luai addressed the topic after training on Tuesday.

“I think it’s a very sensitive subject when you start talking about it,” Luai said.

“When I think about it, I want to make sure I’m doing the right thing and that I’m sending a positive message to my audience.

‘I wish him a lot of strength. I am sure he really regrets what happened.’

Elsewhere, former NRL star Mitchell Pearce claims the Souths fullback is not the main culprit in the alleged episode.

“I hope someone takes tough action against the person who films this kind of stuff,” Pearce said on the Half-Time podcast.

“It would be good to know what the laws are on this because it’s nonsense. You would hope it’s not his mate, but whoever was in there doing that sort of thing should face major repercussions.

“The game needs to find out who these people are and go after them hard. They need to name them and expose them, because these people are getting away with murder and there are no repercussions.

‘Poor Latrell will put his hand up and say he did something wrong, but the other person who filmed it needs to be named, pilloried and his picture put on the back page.

“It’s a horrible feeling to be Latrell and have these kinds of things come up.

‘I sympathize with him, but at the same time, when he does this, he puts himself in an average position, right?

‘It’s not good for the game and it’s not good for Latrell. Nobody knows what the white substance was so it’s hard to comment on that but it’s not good for the game and it’s not good for Souths with the year they’ve had.’
